Miu Miu Studded Coin Purse

| Leave Comment

miumiu_studdedpurse.jpgicon

Like the stud trend but not enough to invest in an entire bag? The trend is continuing into Fall so it's not too late if you do want a studded bag. But if you're unsure, this cute little coin purse has just the right amount of non-committal studs you want! If you are feeling bored with your favorite bag, this is a fun way to change things up a bit by accessorizing your accessory! Remember those Prada fobs that were so addicting? I spent way too much money on way too many of them! My favorite was the flame with skull and cross bones. At least this coin purse has a function other than just as a danglie. Keep your keys and a few bucks in there and you can detach this to run out for coffee. At Net-a-Portericon for $225.

What are the two things we can't live without? Credit card and smart phone, of course! This fabulously chic phone wallet from Violet May accommodates both with this silver python print design. It holds everything so you pretty much can just take this and head out the door. It fits the iphone, Blackberry or Google G1. Now that I can get emails on my phone, I really don't need to sit in front of my desk anymore. Which is why I am off to the gym and nail salon! Is it Friday yet or what? At Violet May for $331.50, also comes in gold python or the plain lambskin, which is on sale for $148.75, but the metallic is so much nicer!

Spring 2009 Preview-- YSL in Technicolor!

Yes, more bright colors! I am going to overdose in color a la Miami Vice this Spring with a little help from YSL. YSL is amazing when it comes to eye popping hues that make us drool and forget about our woes. I am not crazy about the YSL logo stamped on the smaller leather goods but may pick up a downtown tote in turquoise patent, such a delicious color! I can't reveal the color of my new YSL studded platforms but I think this entry kind of gave it away, huh? A photographer came over this week to photograph 200 items of my closet (bags, shoes, clothes), sent by Closet Couture (thanks girls!) and to my disbelief-- 200 items was barely 20% of my closet. I also noticed a lack of big colorful totes, and here is my solution! These colors will start arriving at YSL boutiques soon but while we're waiting, check out the current YSL stock available now.

What about you? What colors are you aching for this Spring?

For Mom Snobs on Mother's Day

$145 Exclusively at Anya Hindmarch.
Order by May 6th for guaranteed Mother's Day Delivery!

I adore the Loose Pockets from Anya Hindmarch. I have a pale pink one that says "Girlie Stuff," and it holds everything, from lip glosses to things of a more personal nature. At first I thought it would not fit much because it's flat, but this is an Anya piece after all, and she thinks of everything. The pouch stretches and gets super soft with use! I shove everything in there: receipts, my bag hook, etc. If you don't want mom to forget you love her, give her one of these adorable and ultra-functional Loose Pockets emblazoned with the following messages: I Love You Mom, Mom's Money and Mom's Bits and Bobs. Actually, at $145, get her all three (in gold, silver or pink metallic)! They also make great presents for your girlfriends! At Anya Hindmarch.com

Tragedy Struck My Chanel Wallet

Or more precisely, nail polish remover struck it. I got this horrific picture from a reader, Linh, her niece spilled nail polish remover on her Chanel wallet and needless to say, she is devastated. Linh came to us for help and luckily there is hope. One of the biggest draws with buying from big major designers like Chanel is that they have an internal repair service with specialists that they call "Leather Surgeons" (I'm not making that up, it is their official title). If you are faced with a bag disaster, you need to send it back to the Chanel Boutique you bought it from (even if you did not buy it from their boutique, find the closest one to you and send it there. Neiman Marcus will not be able to help you). Once the leather surgeon takes a look, he will be able to tell you what he can do and how much it will be. There are options with damage like the one here with nail polish remover that has bleached the leather. Depending on the saturation level, if it is just surface damage, it is salvageable, if it is soaked through the leather, there may not be anything they can do. They can use the original dye and redye it black (if you have beige leather, your only option would be to go black). This could cost anywhere from $200-$500, but keep in mind a new Chanel wallet is only a few hundred more so it may not be worth it. The turnaround for repairs is around 8 weeks. We hope nothing like this happens to your Chanel bag, but if you need additional information or you do not know where to send your sick bags, contact the Managing Director of the Highland Park boutique, Pilar Hubbard at 214-520-1055.

YSL Limited Edition Coin Purse

ysl_coinpurse_front.jpgysl_coinpurse_back.jpg

This fun coin purse or what I call a clutch pouch is what everyone needs when using their favorite clutch. I talked about the floating cards and bills in clutches yesterday and this is the perfect solution for that. I used to use a card holder for my cards, but what about the money? You put it in the zip pocket (if there is one) but it still has a good chance of falling out. And is not the most organized. This pouch does not have card slots, it is like an envelope but it is big enough for all your cards and a pretty good size wad of cash (plus it holds coins which causes problems in a clutch). It makes using your clutch a totally streamlined operation. These come plain without the YSL Paris flagship address but I just find it so kitchy and cute because it is shaped like an envelope. It is $195 and comes in anthracite (which I got), black and metallic gold. There is a larger size but it will be too big for traditional size clutches (those are $245). This is only available this season and they are selling out fast so if you want one call Fatima at YSL Rodeo Dr. 310-271-4110.

Bottega Veneta Karung Leather Wallet

Not that I need another wallet (when is it about need anyway?) but I have been looking at this for a few days now and can not decide whether or not to get it. I just love the color and of course the woven karung leather wallet will last through all the beating my wallets go through but I am concerned about the length of the wallet. I have many wallets I never use because of the size; my Hermes H calf leather wallet is too long to fit in my smaller bags and my Hermes Dogon wallet in Blue jean is the size of an agenda so I only use it for travel. I have two other wallets from Chanel that I don't use because one is too big and one is too small. (I just realized I sound like Goldilocks!) I actually love my current Bottega leather wallet because it fits in to even the smallest pochettes but there are not enough currency pockets for me. I like several long pockets to stash checks, dollars and foreign currency. One for receipts is nice too, which this gray one has but then we go back to the question: is it too long for my smaller bags? I guess I could be totally anal and change wallets with each bag but seriously, who has time for that? What about the guilt I have for owning so many wallets and not using them- how can I possibly buy another wallet? So for now, I will just admire this gorgeous wallet from afar and hope that Santa solves my dilemma and puts it in my stocking for me because I don't have to feel guilty about a gift do I? Anya Hindmarch Luce Frame Clutch

Anya_luceclutch.jpganya_luce_interior.jpg

This is the ultimate party girl's best friend! Yes we all love clutches but who else but someone who goes out more days than not would need a functional clutch that organizes the contents of her wallet in one? You don't even need to switch bags, just throw this clutch into her bigger bag for day. I love the concept because I hate putting lose cards in a clutch, I feel like they'll fall out or get lost but I don't see myself needing this for just the one night out (ok, I've been outed, obviously my days of partying are over). This frame folds together and closes with magnets but there is plenty of slack in between to sandwich your cell phone and lip gloss in the zip and two kiss-lock compartments. You'd be surprised, I was. I dug out the contents of my bag to fully test drive this clutch at Anya's boutique. This silver crackled leather in metallic is the obvious color of choice for clubbers but for the hip and fashionable, the navy patent is the way to go. For those who are lame like me and never stay out past dinner, you can use this as a "wallet" if you're in a driving city and like to jump out of your car with just your method of payment. $325 at
Saks Fifth Avenue.
