I am ready for some new bags to come out already. It's so exciting at the beginning of each season while I wait for new bags to arrive daily and then it's like, ok, I'm done, next! But there is still sale season, which is great, but of course I've seen all the bags already so it's really boring. We've done some Spring previews so when those come out, it's like, been there, done that. It's really hard to keep a high maintenance shopper happy! So for the time being, I am being entertained and semi-indulged by the Cruise Collection that is about to be available at Net-a-Porter. I am immediately drawn to the cute little green clutch, which is not surprisingly a Marni. The satin Lanvin clutch with rosette embellishment is great for cocktail parties and I like the bright blue Anya Hindmarch tote, super fun and happy and perfect for vacations on a cruise, I suppose. But Miu Miu has been quite disappointing these last few seasons, I mean, what is up with the Gucci knockoff bamboo handle? Uh-uh, no. The new Celine though is something that tugs at my wallet, the line quite young and hip these days but the functionality is all there so if you're in the market for a good black basic, this might be a very good bet. Can you believe it is the holiday season already? Well, it seems to come earlier and earlier every year, I remember it wasn't officially "holiday season" until after Halloween but stores already have Christmas stuff out! Well, get ready for the holiday parties with an evening clutch that will take you through it all. This Michael Kors Satin Bow clutch is simple, elegant and versatile. I love the frayed bow at the end, it makes it less cutesy. You can also slip your hand through the bow as an alternative way of holding the clutch. There is a magnetic closure for the foldover flap and gorgeous metallic leather lining. The Iris (purple) is the color of the season but for more wear, the slate is amazing and neutral. Also comes in coffee which is ok, might be great if you have the perfect outfit to go with. Grandma is trying to convince us to move to Alabama. I told her I need to go to NY once a week so she is looking into a private plane for us. Stay tuned… this could become a real life City Slicker story. In the meantime, I have not lost touch with reality. Say you have a long day out, shopping, running errands, meetings, whatever and in the evening you are meeting friends for dinner. So here is what you do. You get this Lanvin shopper and throw the pochette in there. It is the perfect solution for long days when you have too much stuff with you but for each activity you only need a portion of it. You keep the shopper in the car (sorry city girls) and just take the pochette with you when you run in and out of stores. Or for your meeting, you take the whole shopper with you. There is no reason to match the 2 since you will not be using them at the same time. The shopper in the bronze is the perfect day color that will go with most things and of course the anthracite pochette is your all around go-to clutch. This shopper is as cute as can be and LIGHT!! The drawstring closure allows you to change the shape and look as you wish. The foldover clutch is one of the few that actually works perfectly. In satin, it folds flat and is easier to manage. Happy Leap Year! To celebrate, here is a bag that is out of the norm. This Maison Martin Margiela bag is indicative of their aesthetic, it is out there and unstructured. I'm all for interesting and unique styles but when it comes to bags, it still needs to function like one. The look and feel of this bag is so modern and romantic, it looks amazing on the body since it is totally soft so it contours. The handle is woven leather which is a great contract. This bright sunny yellow is fab and it comes in gray which is also amazing. But .... the satin is slippery and floppy so when you try to go in the bag to look for something, it's like you are wrapped up in your drapes. There is a really big and heavy hardware clasp that holds the top of the bag together but it is way too heavy and just gets in the way as you dig and dig. In concept, it is cool but bags do afterall serve a function and this it does not. $745 at eluxury. There are those that love what they love and throw caution and practicality to the wind so we'd like you to weigh in on this one.

Is this satin cutie from Miu Miu a must have or what? Holiday party season is upon us and I've gotten a bunch of dressed so now all I need are accompanying clutches. And if you haven't gotten the memo yet, grey is THE color for Fall. I've been on a purple kick and just got the cutest purple dress, what better compliment than grey to go with? We all know food and more food is what the season is about and we wouldn't want to deprive you of easy access to the hors d'oeuvre tray. Keep your composure and clutch out of the way with the handy and dainty ribbon strap. The small clutch will hand elegantly from your shoulder as you stuff your face and down your drinks. Miu Miu is normally not a cheap thrill but this all access season long beauty is only $295 and at that price certainly qualifies. I love a bit of glamour in my evening bags but would never carry anything with diamonds on it (that is way too Kimora tacky for me) which is why this Jimmy Choo Cecile with smoky crystals is a perfect evening bag. Made of olive satin with crystals of varying amber shades, it's a bit of bling without too much shine. So elegant and very chic, it will look amazing with the somber colors for Fall. Remember the pink lizard clutch I wanted so badly but couldn't get? (the $3790 was a bit much for a clutch even for the Bag Snob) Well, here is the same clutch but in woven satin. It is a lovely lovely bag and I love all the details but the love does not compare to the woven lizard. I mean, how could it? This seems like the poor man's version of it and for the Bag Snob I do not accept compromises. And this isn't even really at a poor man's price because $1700 for a satin clutch is actually harder to justify than a $4K lizard, especially since this clutch is small, 8.5" x 5". What to do what to do?? I'm going to pass on both of these and wait to see what lovelies come my way. There is always something better, that's what makes shopping so exciting and fun!!
