Get the Look: Leighton Meester's Shiny Croc Tote

blake-lively-leighton-meester-hug-08.jpgnancy g croc tote.jpg

Leighton Meester was photographed on the steps of the Met in a shiny croc Nancy Gonzalez bag very similar to the Nancy Gonzalez Shiny Croc Tote ($4.400) pictured above. I was on my way to one of the Philharmonic in the park performances when this took place actually, so I saw her...and her eye catching bag! The bag fits perfectly with her character, though I'm not sure that I would be so fond of an 18 year old in "real life" toting around a croc bag with such a classic shape, structure, and size. I'm also doing my best to ignore that hideous outfit because in the end, despite the age of who is wearing it, it's truly exquisite (plus Leighton only plays an 18 year old. She's actually 23). I would love to see this bag paired with some simple trousers and a blouse or for someone in an older demo, how great would it look with a light-colored skirt suit (a la the yellow Michael Kors one Michelle Obama just wore)!? What do you think about Leighton's Nancy Gonzalez?

Jennifer Lopez in Adriana Castro

JLO_Adrianacastro.jpgI'm going to sound like a total stalker here but it is no secret that I am in love with Jennifer Lopez. She is just so beautiful, how can you possibly deny that? Anyway, we are on the same wave length. I loved Ben Affleck and she loved Ben Affleck. Now I love Adriana Castro and look here, she has been seen EVERYWHERE with her Meissa Hobo in natural python. She loves Adriana Castro, too!! Tina and I have been gushing over Adriana for a year now and we are so happy to see her designs on a comparable beauty!

We gave away the Meissa hobo in purple ostrich back in January. Who wants to win this exact bag, the one Jennifer Lopez is seen with? We can start a propaganda campaign and I'm pretty sure Adriana will be more than happy to offer one up for a giveaway!

Also, don't forget to sign up to our Facebook fan page for a chance to win an Adriana Castro Colette clutch!

Fergie's Louis Vuitton Satin Plisse Matelasse

Fergie showed up at the Men's Louis Vuitton show in Paris a few weeks ago sporting the Louis Vuitton Satin Plisse Matelasse, $2,575 (it's a harder edge take on the LV Limelight clutch). A number of people didn't seem all that fond of the Louis Vuitton African Queen clutch because it seems awkward to tot around, and predictably, the gold was too loud for some. This clutch however is considerably more understated. It's made of a mix of blue silk and black leather and closes via a studded center with a gold buckle. I think the size of the clutch is fab and I love that it straddles the line between sturdy and slouchy. I'm also into the gold pyramid studs (will we be into them next season though? That's a risk anyone who buys this bag has to take I guess). I'm usually not big on Fergie's style, but I think she nailed it here -- at least when it comes the bag...the belt, the shoes, the frou frou dress, well, that's another story we'll reserve for Couture Snob!

Rachel Bilson Longchamp Legende clutch: Snob or Slob?

rachel-bilson-phillip-lim-kristen-bell-02.jpgbilson bag.jpg

I couldn't name one movie that Rachel Bilson has been in for the life of me and her days on the OC are long gone, so if there's one reason that Bilson is still in the news, it's her awesome style. Here she is at Vogue's 1-year anniversary party for 3.1 Phillip Lim's L.A store in West Hollywood wearing a fab outfit and carrying Longchamp's Legende clutch in a snake style. I'm not big on the snake style, but I like that it's in neutral tones and it's a great complement to perhabs the only gold lame outfit I've ever seen that works!

Pringle of Scotland Eel Plissé: Snob or Slob?

Rachel Bilson and Jessica Alba have both been spotted out and about in the Pringle of Scotland Eel Plissé gray quilted bag (spring/summer 2009 collection). This is a sumptuous utterly covetable bag. I love the slate gray color and the fact that it's just slightly over-sized. I could totally see this being perfect for traveling or for days when you have about a million things on your to-do list and you need a comfy bag that can hold everything you need without it looking bulky. It's also low key and sleek in an almost Bottega Veneta-like way (especially given the basket weave detailing). The price, which comes in at slightly over $2,000, is also not bad given that it's made of plisse eel skin. What do you think of this Pringle of Scotland style? Snob or Slob?

Jessica Szohr Treesje Women's Metro Clutch

jessica-szohr.jpg

Jessica Szohr isn't the only who has been repeatedly photographed with the Treesje Women's Metro Clutch ($238), the likes of LC, LL and a bunch of the other girls about town have been snapped with it as well. This bag is pretty much the epitome of a boring and predictable clutch. I've seen it in person at Bloomingdale's and it's utterly forgettable. The only thing that drew me to it was its size which is just right for those of us who have more than a credit card and a Blackberry to keep in our clutch. Sure it's at a contemporary price point so one cannot expect to find subtle Bottega Veneta-esque leather, but this bag screams more under $50 Forever 21 than anything with three figures. That said, it is simple and therefore versatile (unless you get it in red that is), but if those are your only criterion I'm sure you can find a better value than this. What do you think? Halle Berry's Thomas Wylde Santa Cruz: Snob or Slob?

Maybe if I was more into cowboy/rocker-chic I would like the Thomas Wylde Santa Cruz, but even gorgeous Halle Berry isn't making it work for me. The fringe, the braided metal strap (seems like that would hurt your shoulder), the skulls on the side and then to boot crinkly leather -- eeck! And with a retail price of nearly $2,000 I think this is a definite slob. Plus, not to get too graphic, but doesn't it look like the skull is vomiting the fringe!!? That said I do like the general bucket shape and size of the bag. What do you think snob or slob?  Thomas Wylde bags are available at Net-a-Porter.com

LC in Rebecca Minkoff

There are few bags at this price point that are as covetable as the Rebecca Minkoff Supernova Stud Devote Handbag ($695). I've been eyeing it for a few weeks now and can't decide whether to get it in black or brown . It's one of the few bags I've seen that uses studs without it feeling overly-trendy/rocker-like. Not that it looks like it per se, but the Supernova feels very similar to Miu Miu's Studded Shoulder Bag in spirit (a bag which by the way I bought early this year and love!). They both stand-out because of their over-sized size and use of big, round studs. The Minkhoff is lighter than Miu Miu's version for those who consider weight a make it or break it issue. I'm liking the buckled strap detail at the sides and the gold hardware and unlike most of the handbags I currently wear on a daily basis, this style has a single shoulder strap. The only downside is that the closure is a magnetic-snap which always causes me to worry about pick-pockets. That said there is ton of room in the bag, so most everything falls to the bottom (hence the slouchy-ness you see in the photo of Lauren Conrad carrying the bag). What do you think about LC's Supernova Stud Devote Handbag?

Miranda Kerr's Louis Vuitton: Snob or Slob?

I'm loving the Louis Vuitton African Queen bag from the LV Spring/Summer 2009 collection (updated version of the Monogram Limelight from the Fall/Winter 2007 collection). I have a feeling that the gold will make it "love it or hate it," but I think the metallic color mixed with the colorful tassels gives it a playful, tribal touch. The bag has a fun youthful vibe, plus the black twisted drawstring closure is quite original. I'm not too fond of how it looks against Miranda Kerr's dress, but I think it would be to die with a conservative black suit or classic LBD. What do you think? Snob or Slob?

The Louis Vuitton African Queen comes in two colors, Gold and Bronze, for $1,530.

Sienna Miller in YSL: Snob or Slob?

Sienna Miller is pictured strolling along the beach in the Yves Saint Laurent Becase Flap Bag in Sky Anthracite, $1995 (get it for less in brown here). The shape of this style strikes me as an odd cross between a shoulder bag and a messenger bag. I like the brass hardware (though it reminds me of Chloe's Paraty hardware), and the shade of grey is light enough to work all year round. I only wish that the straps were shorter (they are adjustable to an extent), and further apart or that the bag was just a smidgen wider so that it didn't fall into this awkward in between size category. The way it is now I actually feel like this bag would be best suited for a male fashionista. What do you guys think? Snob or Slob?
