Freida Pinto in Chanel Coco Cocoon

freida coco.jpglilly allen ad.jpg

Freida Pinto is picture above wearing a bag from the new Chanel Coco Cocoon collection, which comes-out next month, and is featured in the Lily Allen Chanel ads (Allen is the face of the new Coco Cocoon handbag line). As a gym or beach bag I think the bag works, as an everyday bag not so much. The whole Coco Cocoon collection features reversible bags that are made of sporty-looking puffy leather. Timing wise the bag launch makes sense. We're all looking to cut back and these bags offer a two-for-one deal. That said there's little denying that while this collection may be Chanel's attempt at being "progressive," these bags look cheap -- where's the craftsmanship? This bag looks like it was made in 5 minutes by a robot! I'm laughing out loud already imagining women walking around in their puffy penguin coats come winter toting around this bag!

Clutch it like Samantha! VBH on SATC 2

vbhsamanthaclutch.jpg
I am stalking the girls on SATC 2 this week. The bags, the jewels, the shoes! It's all so very exciting! Samantha (I call them by the fictitious names as if they were my friends, yes I need help) clutched a fabulous VBH yesterday-- the Palm Clutch in Shocking Mastice Drip Python (even the name is sexy and appropriate for Samantha!) Retail is $1,300-- so reasonable for an exotic large clutch with impeccable detailing that all VBH bags are known for.

Call Juliana at Stanley Korshak (they carry the largest selections of VBH bags! We're hoping to get the very handsome Bruce to come out for an event with Bag Snob ;) or email Juliana here! Trust me, if they don't have it, she will find it!

Agyness Deyn's Katherine Fleming Kate Shoulder Bag: Snob or Slob?

I've never understood the Agyness Deyn obsession (though I have to say I loved her in the JPG Madame Perfume commercial). I know many people like her stereotypical "downtown,"   casual style, but something about it seems so calculated to me -- I refuse to believe that, that mismatched outfit she's wearing in the photo above was just randomly thrown on! Above she's pictured in Katherine Fleming Kate Shoulder Bag ($1,950) in blue. I'm not loving the shade; it looks a lot better in black though I can't help but think it looks a bit like a cross between a Chanel 2.55 and the Nina Ricci Pony Bag gone wrong. It doesn't seem like a practical day-time bag and the chain link looks cheap. I do like the pleating detail and the push-lock closure (though one of my Miu Miu bags has a push-lock closure and it's a real pain in the butt when you need to get something out of your bag fast). Any positive features about this bag are however obliterated for me by the price, which I think has one digit too many.

Vanessa Hudgens' JJ Winters Grey Suede Fringe Bag: Snob or Slob?

hudgens jj.gifjj.jpg

The girl inside of me who wishes she was less uptight and more care-free is dying to sport this bag. Unfortunately I would totally look like some Pocahontas disaster walking around NYC with the JJ Winters Grey Suede Fringe Bag ($389). For anyone in their 20s though who has a casual-chic, laid-back style I totally think it could work (especially those who live in the Bay Area or something comparable). I love the grey -- almost taupe -- color and I think Vanessa Hudgens pulls off the bag very well.

Sarah Jessica Parker is hot in Pink Bottega

jessicapinkbottega.jpgEveryone is hyped over SJP's lack of wedding ring on her left hand this weekend while dining with a male friend. Jesus, get a life people. Maybe she ran out the door and forgot? In any case, none of my biz.

I only care about the fabulous pink Bottega Veneta tote she is clutching in her ringless hand!

I mean if there was ever a case that a great bag can save your outfit, this is it.  Even her simple little brown (boring) dress looks glam with the hot pink tote!

Love how the iconic Bottega weaving is done in patches, too.  Jump to see it up close and personal....

Sienna Miller's Prada: Snob or Slob?

If I didn't know better I would swear this bag was Marc Jacobs, but alas it's Prada's Saffiano & Tessuto Tote ($1,550). Sienna pulls this bag off well even though I can't imagine that this is a comfortable bag to tot around. The briefcase handles look like they would cut into your arm (and it would have to be a fairly slender arm at that). The style is fairly classic, but does anyone else think it looks like a bag an old-school doctor who-makes-house-calls would opt for!? I wish the Saffiano & Tessuto was slightly bigger (it's 15¼"W X 11"H X 5"D), because I would LOVE this as a laptop bag.

Ashlee Simpson's D&G Micol: Snob or Slob?

ashlee-simpson-300.jpgdg.jpg

Last season the invite to the Hayden-Harnett F/W 2009 show came in the form of a small black leather envelope-shaped clutch that was embellished with geometric brass hardware. Inside the clutch (pictured below) was the show invite and a key to the hotel room where the presentation took place. How amazing is that!?? The invite is so indicative of how creative Toni Hacker -- co-founder and creative director of Hayden-Harnett -- is and I have worn the envelope-clutch on countless occasions since. I love that it's simple enough to go with practically anything, but still spiced-up and more interesting than your typical little black clutch. The same qualities that I like in the HH clutch are drawing me to the D&G Black Micol Leather Crossbody Bag ($618.75) that Ashlee Simpson is sporting in the picture above (it's a crossbody bag with clutch option). The key and padlock are a fun touch (and a nice alternative for those, who like me, were obsessed with the Chloe Paddington when it first came out, but couldn't get over how heavy the padlock was!).

Miranda Kerr's Prada: Snob or Slob?

c431d_mirandakerr.jpgmiranda kerr.jpg

Is it just me or does Miranda Kerr seem to be popping-up all over these days?? All I can say is she gives Gisele a run for her money..so gorgeous! Above the Victoria's Secret model is pictured with an ombre Prada bag and though I'm not a fan of the bag I have to say that it goes perfectly with her outfit. I think the Prada bag has a good base, but the baby blue is too much of a clash with the ombre and I don't like the shape (though overall I tend to not like bags that are too rectangular in shape). The zip detail on the bottom is a nice touch though. My vote is for slob when the bag is taken on its own and snob when it's as expertly coordinated with an outfit as it is in Kerr's case.

Hilary Duff's Ted Rossi Python Hobo Bag: Snob or Slob?

hilary duff.jpgTed-Rossi-Python-Hobo-Bag-as-seen-on-Hilary-Duff.jpg

Ted Rossi is all about the jewelry for me -- love, love, LOVE! Rossi's bag are another story. Above Hilary Duff is pictured in the Python Hobo Bag ($2,495), and it's a total slob for me. It doesn't look luxurious and for the price I rather get a leather Prada or Givenchy or for $600 less you can get Adriana Castro's Meissa Python Hobo! The shape looks awkward -- the arm hole appears to be too big and I'm not digging the elongated, rounded rectangular-esque body. I also wish that instead of being a black/gray, the bag was more of a beige-neutral to give it a cleaner look.

What do you think about this Ted Rossi Hobo? Snob or Slob?
