Katie Holmes is on my watch list lately and not just because she is a devoted mommy! Katie has developed a very diverse bag collection (almost entirely purchased by Tom or herself I was told)-- from edgy Gryson totes to this classic Valextra shopper, Katie doesn't follow trends and is really maturing into a fashion icon in her own right. A woman who carries this Valextra shopper is one who does not seek attention, this is about as subtle and understated as you can get!

I love Valextra bags, they are made impeccably well and are so simple chic-- my purple Boston bag has been around the world squished in a suitcase and I never worry because I know it won't fall apart. I'd love to have this shopper for traveling, it fits magazines and a lap top perfectly.

OK, fine, these are not the biggest A-listers but young Hollywood starlets are the ones to watch because they are not so predictable. The Cole Haan Phoebe is young, hip, practical and easy on the budget. The soft thick straps are incredibly comfortable and the knotted finish is super cute. It's details like that and the interesting piping that are subtle but really make this bag Snob and Celeb Worthy. The best part though is the function - there is the main center zipped compartment and 2 open side compartments that are the width of the entire bag. Other (slightly bigger) celebrities seen with the bag are Jordin Sparks and Paris Hilton. At Cole Haan for $598.

I love Kate Moss and I love Derek Lam, and I love that Kate loves Derek, too. Okay enough gushing but I'm really excited to see Kate carrying Derek's Elsa clutch in gray python.  Kelly waxed on over the leather version($790) but I'm all about this lovely shade of steel gray exotic skin (I am so treating myself to this for Mother's Day!).  Sexy and flirtatious, it's perfect for the martini sipping Derek Lam girl (I like mine dirty and shaken please, with extra olives!). This is a large clutch at 11" and has little extras like the magnetic asymmetric outer pocket to hold your ID for easy access (if you're lucky enough to get carded) plus hidden flap pocket.  Luxe satin lined interior holds another zipper pocket and open pocket-- the Elsa clutch has all the functionality of a large bag without the bulk which makes it great to use during the day, too! Paris Hilton was asked on tape if she was concerned about the outbreak of the Swine flu on TMZ today and her response was "I don't eat that". Okay then!  Apparently she is as wise and in tune to current events as ever.

She's toting her furry dog bed called Chewy Vuitton here which I'm certain her dog will eat which makes it a total waste of money.

I don't know, is it me or is she getting more annoying with age and Nicole Richie getting less annoying?

Madonna has my favorite Louis Vuitton bag of recent years, the slouchy chic Mahina. The shape is modern and casual and it manages to showcase the iconic (if over exposed) logo in a subtle manner. This is the XL size ($3,360 and almost 30" wide!), way too big for me and for a person who is recovering from a recent horse injury. But then again, she's grinding the ax at the gym already, what's a heavy bag!?!?  I personally like the L size ($2,740), it's still very large at 18" but it folds and drapes into itself, appearing much smaller. 

She does look a bit off though, her coloring is very pale and she is missing that Madonna sparkle.  Maybe she should take more time and rest from her injury.  Louis Vuitton available online at eLUXURY.com  (Photo via People.com)

I have asked everyone I could think of, including Gisele's PR people (who remain mum) and finally think I know who the designer is though I am still waiting on confirmation.  It's the Loewe Calle bag-- the knotted hardware on the straps give it away.  In the close up it's not as appealing as it was but is still pretty damn fierce.

Jump for closer shot of the bag.  The bag looks huge by the way, remember that Gisele is, like, almost 6' tall!  If it dangles to her knees, imagine what it will look like on the Olsen twins.

The newlywed showed off her fabulous purple ostrich hobo this week in NYC before taking off for Costa Rica for a 2nd wedding celebration.

I am obsessing over this bag-- the color is amazing and I love a good hobo shape to slouch around with. I'm trying to figure out what brand this is. Anyone have an idea?

I thought Bottega at first but can't confirm.

Kate Moss is fabulous beyond words. Don't preach me on her lifestyle cuz I don't care about that. I'm only coveting her insane style and wardrobe. Who else can look so nonchalantly chic without trying? Here she is in a classic Gucci bag that I'd never carry but you know what, she makes it work. I also love her collection of leopard coats, from vintage to faux, she's got several that she wears often. I often read that Kate is really into diamonds, sounds like a girl after my own heart! What do you think?
