The night I landed in New York, I attended a dinner with Simon Doonan at Barneys. Despite my ongoing, inevitable jetlag (a whirlwind of Italy, Hong Kong, China and oto NYC in three weeks) and exhaustion, the always-entertaining Mr. Doonan managed to perk me up with the latest accessories for Spring ’13. Reece Hudson, a snob favorite, is the latest addition to the fabulous arsenal of bag designers at Barneys. And their savvy-meets-edgy aesthetic fits right in – while still managing to stand out.
I am a broken record lately: there is nothing chicer than a small shoulder bag, envelope clutch, or a hard-case minaudière for me right now. It’s all about small! It’s also all about Reece Hudson’s unique details, like a wrist-worthy cuff and tie-dyed effects, enough to make me even more enthusiastic about petite silhouettes.
Simon also gave away a Céline trapeze in the most divine shade of lipstick red. (The same shade as my lipstick, I might add. I so deserved to win!) Not only do I love New York, I love Barneys. Thank you both for the warm welcome!
