As I get older, my bags get smaller. Sure, you could chalk it up to back problems, but I think it has more to do with being wiser and knowing that bigger doesn’t mean better. Bags aren’t our homes or cars, so why do we treat them like it? Besides, carrying something small looks so chic compared to lugging around a giant shapeless satchel. Even living in NYC, my friend, the infamous Oscar PR Girl, only uses small clutches, going from the subway to work to fancy dinners seamlessly. Saint Laurent’s Betty bag (at Barneys New York for $1,550) is perfect for busy fashion chicks. Chain straps are sophisticated, but on larger bags, they dig into the shoulders and can weigh a ton. Betty would never do that to you. Neither would Bottega Veneta’s mini messenger (at Barneys New York for $1,280) or Kenneth Cole’s Linked In bag (at Kenneth Cole for $158). So check out all of these little wonders because as they say, the best things come in small packages!

I love small bags. I think they complement any outfit perfectly (I especially love it when they are a bright pop of color), and I don’t carry that much in my bag, so it would get lost in a big bag and I would spend too much time rummaging around.
I am a CHANEL wallet on a chain fan – I pair it up with one of my soft totes which can fold up to fit in my CHANEL if I need it later on… x Eve
I love small crossbody bags. They work well for day and night, casual or dressy. I still carry a large bag on the weekdays to the office but often tuck a smaller bag inside too.
When I’m lugging my dslr around on an R strap (also a cross body), I usually also wear a small crossbody for my keys, phone and other essentials. I’m a blogger and really prefer to not run around with a big whole camera bag at events.
Rebecca Minkoff makes some great options at affordable prices. Both mini and at a size you can load quite a bit in.
