Did I mention I’m having a major Marc Jacobs moment? Their new website is clean and streamlined, making it so easy to shop! I am certified bonkers for the 1984 bag in sunny, tile-style stripes ($1,995). And I’m appreciating it in trusty black, too.
1984 was a watershed year for Marc. He launched his fashion company, Jacobs Duffy Designs Inc., with longtime partner Robert Duffy. At just 21 years old, it was also the year he graduated from Parsons. I grew up in the era of Marc Jacobs: college in the ‘90s was all about his vision of grunge. I was that girl who spent her entire monthly college allowance on MJ for Perry Ellis. He lost me for a moment in the early 2000s, but with to-die-for collections and a cavalcade of desirable bags, he has won me back and then some. My heart will always belong to Marc!
It’s hard to believe the baddest boy on the fashion block is turning 50 this year, though he’s only gotten better with age. My bag of 2013? The 1984. Looking to the future is suddenly all about the eighties, baby! Available on MarcJacobs.com
