If for some reason you didn’t have faith in Diane Kruger’s brazen sense of personal style – and her ability to make almost any look successful – here is a true testament of her joie de vivre when it comes to getting dressed. Leaving the Chanel Spring 2013 Haute-Couture show at Grand Palais in Paris on January 22, she mixed “French schoolchild” (the beret! The gigantic collar!) with grown-up chic (suede stiletto boots ensure she doesn’t look too costume-y).
Now if I wore this outfit, I’d look like a escapee from the vintage classroom. But Diane Kruger pulls it off with humor and elegance. And the quilted Chanel mini-bag is right on. Not only is it timeless, anything much bigger and the proportions would be off. What do you think of Diane’s daring look, mai oui or très mal?
Get your quilted baby bag fix with Chanel’s single flap bag in inky black. I don’t need to tell you it’s a classic investment. And don’t feel pressured to sport it with a magnified Peter Pan collar. Unless you have the guts. On Farfetch for $2,200.
