I am so excited to be interviewing my favorite Spice today. In the last few years, Posh has done her nickname proud – and then some. As a designer, Victoria Beckham has won over both critics and skeptics alike. Myself included, when she initially launched. But the instant I slipped into my very first VB dress, all my doubts washed away as quickly as all my flaws disappeared. Nothing (aside from Scarlett O’Hara’s corsets) sucks everything in and lifts everything up as well as a Victoria Beckham dress. Each and every one of Victoria’s dresses are uniquely numbered; I have girlfriends who collect them and compare the numbers. Limited editions make each piece feel very special – which they are, in addition to being in keeping with her impeccable taste and sense of aesthetics.
The bags are also incredibly well-made…But what did you expect from the ultimate bag snob?! I own the quintessential Victoria tote ($3,850), which combines deliciously tailored calf-leather and lovely finishing touches (the top opens completely, so it’s easy for a busy mom to peek inside and distinguish her things from her tots’). On my wish list: the tri-tone shoulder bag ($2,700). Thanks to a cleverly designed clasp, it ensures no risk of anything falling out during a night out on the town (though I admit it took me a few tries to figure out the push-lock). The two-tone bag of leather and suede ($3,125) is equally covetable, but I just ordered the mini-satchel shoulder-crossbody bag ($1,595) for my upcoming holiday trips. It’s the perfect thing to wear with my Victoria dresses, her new “gentler” priced collection. From every angle, every piece in her in her collection is meticulously designed and well thought-out, color me obsessed!
