Miuccia Prada’s Resort 2013 apparel collection may be athletic-inspired, but these bags look like they belong out on the town more than they do on the tennis court. Model Sasha Pivovarova, the face of Prada for six back-to-back seasons before leaving in 2008, has returned to shoot the Resort campaign, which is ironically wintery. I’m cold just looking at these shots!
Sitting on a white sofa in a glass-paneled room, Sasha is iced out in sparkling diamonds, all white clothing, and even silver Prada signature platform sandals. This crystal look makes its way onto the bags, too, of course. The handle of the rock star-studded clutch is lined with large baubles that reflect and shine brilliantly under the camera lens. Even the kisslock closure is topped with gems! The tote, also sleek black, comes in patent and is surprisingly classic considering the ultramodern nature of this campaign. Just another reminder that some things are always in style. This futuristic campaign, shot in NYC by Steven Meisel, has me looking to the future when I can get my hands on one of these bags!
