Black velvet is one of the most seductive and richest fabrics, and this season, it is more magnetic ever. In a literal sense, sure! (You can’t help but want to reach out and touch velvet, over and over again.) Thanks to new blends and innovations, black velvet is also an addiction for the eyes – and this fall’s must-have bag. My first choice: Gucci’s quilted velvet Lady Stirrup tote (on Net-a-Porter for $2,890). This is the sort of detailed structure I can’t do without at the moment, and trimmed in leather, it’s the ultimate luxe statement bag.

These bags are great but they are part of the inspirational life I do not have. As the owner of 2 large shedding dogs, a dark velvet bag is a no can do – there aren’t enough de-linting rollers in the world.
The Louboutin is gorgeous, and not a bad price for python… maybe a can shave the dogs bald?
