Burberry Spring/Summer 2013 PVC and Python Top Handle Bag

The question is: how are you going to answer? Burberry is the latest (and perhaps greatest?) to jump on the PVC-bag trend. Since they can’t be the first, they have been sure to take it up a notch with metallic-python trim…But does that warrant an almost-$4,000 price tag (after tax) for a plastic bag?!
It looks like candy, especially in grape, lemon-drop, and candy-apple, but granted, there are lots of luxe details. A python-covered lock (it’s farmed python from Asia) is a pure delight, and so are two cute matchy-matchy interior purses. But I just can’t justify this price! Now it may look proportional from runway shots, though keep in mind: 17″ x 8″ is a very large-sized satchel. Without optional shoulder straps, the Blaze will be hard to carry off if you’re not a six-foot-tall glamazon.
I have the Delvaux PVC bag and love it, but I’d thought $750 was an outrage for a jelly bag…until today. Little did I know, it would seem like a bargain after LFW! I do love the drool-inducing candy colors of the Burberry Blaze bags, but I’d leave them on the runway. What about you, would you shell out the 4K for this bag?
Burberry Blaze bags, $3,695, available for pre-order on Burberry.com.

this idea of the transparent bags was already used many times (Prada almost twice) and never successed because no woman on earth wants to let others know what she carries in her bag.

Ugh. Vinyl with no support on the bottom. Putting anything in the bag will spoil the appearance because it will change the color. And a transparent vinyl bag that’s 17 in long seems like it would sag. There just doesn’t seem to be any point to this bag. If they really wanted to do something cool, they should sell a set of cool makeup bags to display inside. But without that, I don’t see how this could ever be carried.
