With a striking silhouette (these edges are more angular than a supermodel’s cheekbones), the Cara is one of my all-time favorite Oscar de la Renta clutches. It doesn’t hold much – just an iPhone, credit card, and ONE lip gloss (but what else do you need?) – yet the hard-case minaudière is so chic, it’s worth it. Besides, I think of it as a piece of jewelry.
I have the neon-yellow lambskin, but it looks like I’ll be adding more to my collection very soon! For Fall, Cara has been updated in glitter, sparkle, and gleam. Stones worthy of the Emerald City, dazzling beadwork inspired by the sand and surf (my personal favorite), and layers of sequins to put most disco balls to shame, Oscar’s addictive clutch is now more “notice me!” than ever. There’s a flavor for every snob who’s after a little a little shine this autumn. And if you ask me – and Mr. de la Renta, for that matter – we all deserve some shine come September.
