I am still traveling in Asia, and I find it so interesting that almost every Chinese man I know carries some sort of man bag. I saw a show about luxury-buying behavior in China on the plane the other day (it’s really the only time I watch TV) and it stated that 50% of luxury-bag buyers in China are men! The problem is, most of them are carrying similarly boring bags (I mean there is only so much you can do with a man bag).
That’s why I love Santiago Gonzalez‘s luxurious line of crocodile bags for men. If you’ve been living under a rock, Santiago is the son of crocodile queen Nancy Gonzalez and the president of her company. His are pieces that every man, snob or not, needs in their wardrobe: A magnetic money clip ($145) in a bright color, so you never misplace it again. Or perhaps a credit card holder ($220), simple and streamlined (I love to use these in my small clutches!). The chocolaty briefcase ($4,100) is a no-brainer, while the inky hold-all bag ($6,100) is a fierce weekender for a man of fierce confidence. And the luxuriant watch-holder ($935) makes a perfect gift for the man who has literally everything.
I can assure you the collection is meticulously made. I’ve seen Santiago with his custom-made briefcase and carryalls for years; it’s so exciting that he’s decided to put them in production under his own brand.
