Serpui Marie Juliana Stingray and Wood Minaudiere: The Thrill of Brazil

I’m not one to buy a minaudiere very often (a box no bigger than my hand won’t fit all my stuff) but something about this one is surprisingly exquisite. At a price that won’t scare me off, it’s an easy sell.

Serpui Marie grew up in the Brazilian countryside, where the beach was always just a few steps away. Now she designs bags with the shore as her inspiration. After a series of mother-of-pearl clutches, it was time to dive deeper into the ocean. Stingray was the next logical step. Tropical-green skin with a wooden frame and clasp: this is as summery as summer gets. I can almost smell the sand and salt water. The naturally vibrant palette reminds me of a fully ripened coconut tree, but this minaudiere looks like a gem.

No coincidence it also resembles a treasure you might acquire while gallivanting on an exotic island vacation. This is crafted by hand in the Philippines, so even if you can’t make a trip to the beautiful archipelago country (I went last year and it was so beautiful and amazing!), you can still have a souvenir. Exclusively at Browns Fashionicon for $738 (£455).

Pair with: A woven mini-dress with a palm tree-and-flamingo print speaks to this minaudiere. With Matthew Williamson’s boned bodice and silk-chiffon draping, it can step off the beach and take you anywhere. On Net-a-Porter for $1,215.

Wow. Kind of looks like a lime. An expensive lime at that.

This green is the one I’m seeing everywhere this Spring and I have tops, capri’s and skirts that match. It’s a cool color.
