The nearly century-old brand has suddenly gone Las Vegas. But not ironic Balmain-style Strip – like old-town, cheesy, desperately glitzy Vegas. I’m left wondering if that was the inspiration or if these python bags ($7,036) are just an unfortunate accident.
Zagliani struck gold perfecting exotics, and now they have gone all mall kiosk with tacky and garish patterns. There is a fine line between interesting and overboard when you’re using patterns on skins. Subtlety is a must. This heavy-handed treatment is of leopard and zebra ($6,040) is just jarring and depressing. I feel like I have lost a dear friend. Where is the Zagliani I know and love? These flashy styles are available on Luisa via Roma for a pretty penny.
