Alexander Wang got awfully boxy for Fall 2011. Taking structure to the max, even the slouchy Robyn hobo had seriously sharp corners. If you’re like me and just couldn’t get used to the hard, metal edges on other variations of the Prisma, then Wang’s latest incarnation will make sense to you.
Not all bags benefit from capped corners that could serve as mini-weapons if somebody got in your way – what good do they do for clutches and hobos? Even if you’re embellishing a bag for looks, the detail should look like it has some purpose. But a big, toss-around shopper? Now this is logical! Roomy totes that you throw all your stuff into need a touch of hardware to ground and stabilize them; otherwise, you end up with a whole lot of flimsy leather and no inherent structure. These rhodium corners also give this otherwise unassuming tote some edge, literally and figuratively! On Net-a-Porter for $685.
Pair with: Play up the shining edges and give them even more intention with a bold silver cuff. Set off by a three-dimensional golden pyramid, Eddie Borgo’s three-sided cuff has depth and guts. At Bergdorf Goodman for $300.

Structure is exactly what you need in big bags like this! Nothing is worse than throwing everything you need into a bag then watching it all fall out again once you set it down.
