Blogging has kept me young, or should I say it’s the friends I’ve met through blogging who have done the trick. One of my favorites, Leandra Medine, is perhaps the best-known style blogger of the moment (last week in Manhattan, a woman in her twenties recognized the lovable Man Repeller as we were getting in a taxi and lapsed into a gush, “OMG, OMG! I LOVE YOUR BLOG, OMG!” I thought she was going to leap in the cab with us!).
Leandra’s popular blog (Man Repeller) – her writing and photos exude heaps of irreverence and verve – has kept her busy. As has the ever-growing list of her collaborations (a Raise Cache dress; Alex + Eli blazer with suede sleeves and puff-ball zipper-pulls; part two of MR DANNIJO jewels; shoes with SIX London; a Gryphon trench coat; and another forthcoming, with shoe brand Del Toro). At only 22, she has the maturity and wisdom of a girl beyond her years. Combined with real spirit, she reminds us fashion is fun and most of all, about dressing for yourself. A recent graduate of the New School, this Man Repeller has big plans for herself, and we can’t wait to see it all happen. Read on to see her picks for the Five Essentials:
Goyard tote: I promised I’d never actually buy this bag, so it was a really convenient surprise when someone else did for me. I only just graduated school in May and so this bag was the most important transporter in the history of me for the last couple of years. It’s comfortable, holds a laptop, and just sort exudes an element of chic.
Bric’s Carry on Sized-wheeler: Oh yes, I went there, wheeley bag. I won’t lie though, traveling with a wheeley bag makes life so much easier. May start rolling it around Manhattan…

Hermes Taupe Kelly with Silver Hardware: So, I don’t own it yet, big deal? One day.
PS11: Because it’s not as trendy as the PS1 but still equally identifiable as an it-bag. You know, it just exudes one of those “ohhhh, you have that bag” moments.

Reece Hudson red envelope clutch: Aside from the leather so soft, it warms my loins, I am almost always only about an over-sized clutch. Even for formal events…I like to add an element of frivolous and casual no matter what the occasion. Reece Hudson envelope styles are perfect for just that.
Thanks to the reader who caught that huge graphic error!

I love the man repeller and always covet everything she wears. Great feature snobs!
ummmm, that’s not an Hermes Kelly bag – it’s a Birkin…
Editing error. Thanks for pointing it out.
Hmm, it looks like a Kelly to me though, with the handles…
Kelly bags only have one handle and Birkin have two handles—-looks like a Kelly bag to me
Daniel Kelly and Birkin are two. Dry different bags. And I’m sure if anyone knew the difference it’d obviously be these girls. google Hermes birkin and Hermes kelly
The pattern on that Goyard tote is stunning! So intricate yet simple!
Can’t just talk about your friends crappy bag lines
so cute!
The other half is in your hands: doing what you can to stay healthy so you feel better and enjoy a longer.
That’s a gorgeous KELLY etoupe Hermes bag. One handle with two closed prongs at both sides of the handle, for removable strap.
I think totes are becoming out of fashion. However the treasure bag is absolutely awesome.
