Diane von Furstenberg Harper Connect Leather Daybag: Diane’s Love Connection
By Bag Snob Tina on November 9, 2011 9:00 am Tina Craig

I saw the fabulous Diane von Furstenberg last week in Dallas, and the first thing she said to me was, “Have you seen the Harper Connect bag?” With that, she whipped out her own leopard-print version and unzipped the iPad pocket for an impromptu demonstration.

I had looked at the Harper Connect Daybag online, but this was the first time in person – extra-special courtesy of the legendary woman herself! Now I can fully appreciate what an ingenious idea this is.

The latest interpretation is actually not much bigger than the popular original Harper (we gave one away last year), and it’s shockingly not as cumbersome as you’d think. Designed with creatively tech-savvy girls in mind, the back pocket is retrofitted for your iPad. It keeps it safe, snug, and in-place, even through airport security. Want to check the latest news? Access your iPad with a mere flick of the zipper – it doesn’t get more convenient than that.

You can snag the perfectly versatile black and chestnut-brown leather renditions online, but I’d stay on the lookout for leopard; Diane’s personal pick is both fabulous and functional. At Diane von Furstenberg for $695.

Pair with: Keep your Mac gear fabulous with a glamorous iPhone case. Valentino’s lightly studded leather sleeve ($245) is a classic, while Dolce & Gabbana’s star-print patent leather ($175) brings a fun, frisky splash to the inside of your bag.

Love this photo of DVF and myself. We are in matching goat hair vests which looks like my hair, lol. The gold shorts and turtleneck are also DVF but the vintage gold elephant belt is from my friend Judy Aldridge of Atlantishome.com - she has the best vintage stuff!

Luxirare came up with this brilliant idea first and I think I like her design better. I just find the Harper design to be a bit sloppy.

What a clunky bag. Don’t like.
    Love DVF, though.
