Clutch or Wallet?: Alexander Wang Prisma Giant Haircalf Clutch
By Bag Snob Sharon
November 29, 2011

Truth be told the only reason I found myself at Barneys on Saturday was because it was such a nice day and I needed something to get me out of the house. Since I didn’t make it to Barneys on Black Friday I figured I’d stop by (they just took their first markdowns). In between lusting for a fur iPad case from Phillip Lim (I’m desperately hoping that Lim will come-out with a similar case for laptops because I don’t have much of an interest in getting an iPad), I spotted Alexander Wang’s Prisma Giant Haircalf Clutch ($475) and it was love at first sight! It looks like your run-of-the-mill clutch from the outside, but open it up and it’s perfectly compartmentalized. I was worried that it might not have room for my keys (I have nine keys spread on two key chains), but I just tossed it in (not in one of the compartments, just loose), along with my Blackberry and it easily zipped closed. It was beyond hard not to buy the clutch then and there, but I checked Shopbop on my Blackberry while I was still at Barneys and since they had their special holiday promo all week long I was able to get it for $50 less on Shopbop. I can’t wait for it to come!

The Prisma Giant Clutch comes in a smooth leather version ($395) as well, but I have a sweetspot for anything fur, so it was haircalf all the way for me!

That is fabulous! It’s the perfect size to fit everything into without taking up a ton of space!
