This baby top-handle bag is so adorable, it reminds me of a little girl’s bag. A little girl who has very highbrow and precocious taste, of course. Mulberry has brought their appealing mixture of English refinement and youthful verve to yet another bag and the outcome of the small Polly is playful and relaxed (unlike the full-sized Polly, which has a dowdier feel). Deep navy blue leather, simple gold hardware, and a structured, conservative brown handle (love the contrasting straps) is a traditional combination – perfect for a spunky, pint-sized purse. The option of the shoulder strap allows you to put a totally different spin on it, going from structured to carefree.
I could see Rachel Bilson (although she is total Chanel and Hermès snob) or someone with a similarly fresh, modern, and casual style carrying this. I love this bag and have been thinking about getting it for fall! It first caught my attention when Kate Middleton wore the larger version of it as she left England for her trip to Canada.
Also, I am a big fan of Rachel Bilson, and while she does wear a lot of Chanel and Hermès bags, I think she deserves credit for her vast collection of other bags, including those from Miu Miu, Chloe, Burberry, Derek Lam and Isabel Marant.
