Why hello, rebel yell. Nobody ever said clutches have to be all beaded, sparkly, and hyper-feminine, did they? Rebecca Minkoff has just reminded us that they can be quite hardcore, and still appeal to our girly-girl side. Apparently our love affair with studs is not going anywhere (what once seemed like a trend is now as commonplace as certain skins) – it’s just getting better. Forget rows of zippers and fringe-like pulls; the self-described “casual luxury” designer has gotten super-savvy with her evening clutches.
Studs and leather sound like blatant biker babe, but these tough girl-chic studs have been softened by the bag’s rounded oval shape. In gold, they’re more glam than punk, and the variation of stud sizes gives the clutch definition, creating the illusion of a design rather than a galaxy of metal dots. The keen, quirky closure makes it really pop, and with dimensions of 6.5” by 3.5” by 2”, it will hold all your necessities and still be too petite to be anything but adorable – lots of studs require slight proportions.
