Edie Parker Clutches: A New Kind of Arm Candy

It’s always so exciting to discover new bag designers, especially when they bring something fresh and unusual into our hands. Brett Heyman has delivered. The former PR Director of Gucci’s collection of retro-chic acrylic clutches and handbags are poised to be a hit when they arrive at Barneys this summer.

It’s no surprise the Edie Parker line was inspired by Brett’s very own collection of vintage bags. These slim and sleekly silhouetted bags have a tinge of modernized Art Deco-infusion, like you raided your wildly hip grandmother’s wardrobe and treated her clutches to a futuristic, party-ready makeover. Among these pieces of wearable sculpture, meticulously handcrafted in the U.S., are the “Jean” and “Lara.”

With stripes so graphic they almost pop off the bags, the “Jean” (ivory pearlescent with black mica stripes or black with silver pearlescent stripes) looks like something Edie Sedgwick would have carried in her Factory years. On the flipside of this chic coin is the “Lara.” Choose between nude, gray, or navy pearlescent with suggestive clear ends. All three of these marbled clutches have dreamy appeal, but the nude-and-clear blend is particularly sensual. For the party-starter? The “Lara” also comes in black with glow-in-the-dark ends: not just gimmicky, but actually useful when trying to get in the front door late at night! Edie Parker has announced the glamour girl is back and she is livelier than ever.
