I love the beach but no matter how surf-sprayed my hair gets, I am never a bum. Needless to say, I’m not going to pack my sunscreen in any old canvas tote. Looking at this Marc Jacobs bag makes me wish I was on a beach right now, but the bonus is I could carry it regardless! Most beach bags can’t make the transition to everyday life, but with a partial gold link chain, this is dressed up enough to pop on when you’re ready to hit the shops or restaurants. Snugly woven straw and generous leather trim make it hip, not hippie. Actually, the most blatantly beachy aspect might be the sandy color. What I really love is that this bag can handle holding my iPad and MacBook (yes, I am guilty of working from the beach on vacation; I can’t help it!). You can take the girl out of the city, but you can’t take the city out of the girl. Or her bag, for that matter. On Ssense for $925.
Pair with: A swimsuit for the girl who’s more comfortable in stilettos than rubber flip-flops. This floral bikini Rodarte x Opening Ceremony is more like a beach ensemble, thanks to a sundress-worthy print and super high-waisted bottoms. At Barneys New York for $345.

Like it a lot. Reminds me of the Louis Vuitton Odeon in monogram canvas.
I was looking for a cute beach bag priced at under four figures!
I know, it’s hard to justify a beach bag at four figures!
Now that you mention it… it does.

God forbid that a person actually recognize that it is OK to let down their guard for a minute when going to hang out in nature (ie: the beach)
I guess this is called looking like “a bum”. Relax for a minute.
It does look like a proper beach bag:-) I wouldn’t mind wearing it everyday either, paired with flared jeans, silk blouse and big sunnies! Perfect!
I don’t see this is a beach bag at all. The straw definitely makes it a summer bag, but it looks rather small and narrow for all the beach essentials. I think the leather trim and the handles make it too dressy for the beach. I also think the color palette and the shape make it rather mature. And seeing as how everything I own looks beat to hell after a week on the beach, I can’t spend $900+ for a beach bag.
