Salvatore Ferragamo “Emidia” Leather Flap Bag With Whipstich Detail: The Summer of Love

Girls, I think I just found my next bag: Ferragamo‘s brown leather messenger with whipstitch detail and Gancini hardware. The ever-classic Ferragamo tends not to conjure up images of wild youth, but this has the ruggedness of a saddlebag and the easy feel of something the most glamorous girl at Woodstock would have carried. The delicious leather, all wrapped up in whipstitch leather, will age beautifully; I would actually love to see this bag get a little roughed up. I don’t understand people who are afraid to get scratches on their bags – when I see some distress, I see a bag well-loved. Clothes are meant to be worn and the same goes for bags. So take a laid-back hippie outlook with the “Emidia” satchel, and this summer, let love for your bag rule. At Ferragamo.com for $1,990 or call 212-759-3822

Pair with: Daisy Knights’ 22-karat gold-vermeil feather ring for a whimsical, music festival-worthy sensibility. On Net-a-Porter for $375.

Love! Perfect saddle bag for 70s inspired spring style. I think my mom had a very similar one in the 70s that I used for my dress up outfits. Must get this one!

This bag is truly a beauty. Loving leather, I like the design of the bag, and the whipstitching adds an interesting detail. I agree that seeing a little “roughed” up look would add to the character of the bag itself. Very smart looking and a bag any woman would be proud to carry.

Great looking back here… Looks very easy to travel with and lock up tight without having to worry about things falling out while still looking fashionable.

Yes must get it! there is a lighter color with the whipstich but I prefer the richness of this shade… xoxo

Love this bag. Classic colour too, would go with everything! The leather looks really good too. I agree with you about ‘well loved’ bags! I love it when leather bags look a little distressed, it gives them character.

I saw and played with this bag at a Nordstrom in Denver this week…beautiful. I circled back several times to look at it. Still thinking about it. :-)
