The Fall Chanel character is something of a wandering urban warrior, and the bags that both female and male models carried only heightened their air of nomadic cool. While the focus was definitely on the clothes, the classic flap bag – truly, is there any bag more iconic than a CHANEL? – received a few updates. Varying chain lengths (some were tucked neatly under the arm, others hit low at the hip) added interest, but the new buckle (silver and brass) was the otherwise unadorned bags’ most arresting element. The buckle, with a military, utilitarian yet delicate feel, is a far leap from the intersecting “C’s” and a refreshing direction for the brand. Among the small selection of shoulder bags, was a flap satchel with industrial chain strap in masculine proportions, worn on a (very pretty) man (above left). Indeed, a man snob cross-body bag complete with silver chain strap. High luxury, soldierly buckles, and bags for everybody!

I love the new buckle! Subtle. Beautiful.
Awesome buckle and great review.
if I’m getting a Chanel, I want the interlocking CCs.
Besides, they look kind of like the lock that I have on my front door.
I loving that Karl is taking Chanel in a new direction – with both the bags and the apparel.
While I’m not a huge fan of brass, I am loving the buckle in silver. I can’t wait for these two hit the store so I can take a look at them more closely.
@mochababe73 LOL Front door lock chic??
