Chloë Sevigny for Opening Ceremony Half Moon Bag With Lace
By Bag Snob Kelly on February 2, 2011 12:00 pm Kelly Cook

The one good thing I have to say about this bag is that Chloe Sevigny stuck to her guns when it came to design integrity. This is exactly what I think would be her dream bag, a lace trimmed, mesh bag with rope strap – it’s her signature country kitsch look. It’s a rare talent to be able to completely translate a very specific style to a bag. This is her exact style and would perfectly coordinate with her prairie dress and cowboy boots. Bravo Chloe Sevigny for bringing your true vision to fruition and shame on Opening Ceremony for allowing it. By the way, it is 100% polyester. At Brown’s Fashion for $190.75.

This is a cheap looking, totally tacky and tasteless bag. Maybe Chloe was in desperate need of some fast cash or publicity, or else why would she associate her name with a bag that is meant to leave no trace in the bag world? Apparently when you are a celebrity nowadays you can get away with practically anything.

Sure, it is Chloés dream bag but for everybody else, not that beautiful, cudos to her for sticking to her style though.

The fact that this bag is made with dollar store items and has been marked up to 190 dollars is completely ludicrous. It looks like it was found in the child’s dress up bin at Target. I wouldn’t pay 5 dollars for it, there are no redeeming elements. I bet its held together with spit and bubblegum on the inside.

Yeah, right. Since when were 100% polyester bags worth $200? Even if it were in leather, it shouldn’t cost that much. It looks like a $9.99 bag from Wal-Mart.

Slob. I rue the day when country kitsch becomes “stylish.” But, props to Chloe for doing her thing…
