Stella McCartney Tie-Dyed Falabella Cotton Tote

I like this Falabella tote so much better, there is something about the cut out corners of the original design that didn’t sit right with me. Now I feel complete. I am a lover of linen so this makes perfect sense for a Stella bag, I don’t feel like I am compromising or being robbed of superior material (the linen also off sets the weight of the chain). When faced with limitations, you have to get creative which is indicative of this tie-dyed treatment. It’s not Rastafarian tie-dye cuz that would be scary and gross, this is like a wall treatment and gives texture and interest with tonal variations. The thick contrast stitching on the top may seem a bit too much with the chain and all but it actually is an important detail for a polished finish. We are going to see a lot more of you, Falabella, cuz this is a classic that is here to stay. At Saks Fifth Avenue for $1435.

I was in New York this past weekend and I saw several ladies carrying different versions of this Stella Mccartney bag.

Sorry, but $1,400 is way too much for a fabric bag. The heaviness of the chain against a lightweight fabric is going to result in a floppy mess. Not to mention how dirty this type bag will get very quickly.

I have a big problem with dropping that kind of money on a bag that’s not made out of leather or some exotic material. I get Stella’s whole schtick, but I am not sold. There are plenty of pretty, ecologically friendly handbags out there that don’t charge as much as this brand.

On top of that, the design is ugly. The bag is definitely not going to hang right seeing that it’s made from cotton/polyurethane.

I agree with the comments. I love Stella and her vegan beliefs, but I roll my eyes at her prices. I get it– daughter of Paul, made a name for herself at Chloe, ooh la la. But when you are making bags out of materials similar to what Forever 21 uses, well… no. My beliefs are that I would never pay these prices for materials such as this.

Can someone prove me wrong? Are her linens and cottons and pleathers finer than others? Worthy of that price tag?
