Having long been a close friend of the designer, it was no surprise that Karen Elson donned a Marc Jacobs red double faced satin dress to attend–and perform at–the WWD 100th anniversary bash in Manhattan on Tuesday. To complement her Spring 2011 collection dress, however, Elson chose a clutch straight off the same runway. The black orchid pave evening bag, dubbed “The Orchid,” offered just the right amount of style fused with bohemian spirit. Geared toward a younger woman, the shape is small enough to fit comfortably in the hand yet roomy enough to fit all the essentials. I like the subtle inclusion of colored stones at the base of the buckle; they complement nicely with the brown leather and the tomato red leather strap. But make sure the rest of your outfit looks luxe–this bag complements, and doesn’t create, the finished look.
