I had the pleasure of meeting Abbe Held, Creative Director of Kooba bags, last week in NYC and was surprised to find out the story behind the go to brand for chic and well priced bags. Abbe and her mother were the ultimate bag snobs and could not find any bags that appealed to them 12 years ago. Back then, Prada & Kate Spade nylon totes ruled and they just weren’t interested in having bags everyone else had. Thus, Kooba was born.
After hanging out with Abbe (a hipster mom who has impeccable taste!) I’m convinced you need to as well, to really understand the heart of the bags you’ve been buying! Go see her at Neiman Marcus on Michigan Ave this Friday and tell her Bag Snob sent ya!
