PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Can’t make it to NYC for fashion week (or couldn’t score a ticket from KCD)? Watch the Derek Lam S/S 2011 show LIVE from his website on Sunday, September 12th at 10am EST. Bookmark www.dereklam.com NOW!
Happy Labor Day everyone! At Snob Global Media it’s just another Monday (half our readers are international so we always work through US holidays) which means I’m on the prowl for the latest and greatest in bags. And what could be greater than a Derek Lam clutch to jump start Fashion week with? I love the abstract feel of the hardware on the Evie clutch, if you didn’t know it was ram’s head, you’d think it was a vintage style scroll. The new and improved ram’s head (Derek is an Aries) is much lighter than the original but just as chic (if not more so)! Derek’s clutches are a favorite of mine, I collect them and have several in my bag closet. So effortless and require zero thought– they make everything I wear instantly cool (just ask Kate Moss, who’s known to tote her Derek clutches often). The Evie is sized at 11″x6″, perfect for day or night! Now the hard part, olive Evie or black studded?! And yes, Derek, I know you will tell me to get both
Derek Lam Olive Pebbled Leather Evie Clutch here for $890
Black Powder Calf Studded Clutch here for $990

Stop by the Derek Lam SoHo boutique on 9/10 for their Fashion’s Night Out bash, you can have your picture taken against the Fall campaign backdrop with supermodel Maryna Linchuk from the campaign! And ask for Wayne to help you pick out a few fall goodies, he’s my favorite SA on the planet!

Black studded it would be for me.
Forgot to mention there is a handy zippered back compartment so you can keep your cell for easy access. Or in my case, my Amex, so I can shop without missing a beat.

I love the olive and think going simple is best.
I am so sad olive handbags are so trendy this season. It’ s my favorite color for bags, and I fear I will end up hating it once 2010 is over, they way I got tired if studded bags. The olive it is for me…for the time being.
Hi.
I was wondering if you are going to review the new Bottega bag called the Brick bag??
Thanks.
Michelle
The first one is amazing, the studded one is “too much in a unique object” but the idea is interesting!!!
