I can’t honestly justify the four-figure price tag of this tote, but it looks mighty good on Gwen Stefani (the same can’t be said for Rachel Bilson). The bag in question? Vuitton’s Aviator tote, from the pre-fall collection. Expensive, yes, and the fact that it’s lined in quilted, orange nylon for an aeronautic theme doesn’t help much either. The exterior jacquard fabric is certainly novel, but paired with the calfskin bottom this bag is decidedly less luxurious than one would hope. One thing I do like is the slouchy shape (I prefer it closed) which changes depending on how it’s worn. What do you think?

Just saw this bag today at the San Juan Louis Vuitton boutique. Horrible and tacky! Even my SA couldn’t fathom the excessive price for this bag.
I agree that it does look better on Gwen Stefani. Rachel Bilson is dull, unexciting and boring.
That is an exorbiant amount of money for an ugly bag.
Slob but does Bilson get her LVs for free? She has been photographed in almost every new bag that has come out the past few months.
Louis Vuitton has officially lost “it” to me. I love Rachel Bilson, but even she can’t make this bag look good!
It’s to be expected with Marc Jacobs at the helm. The bag designs just keep on getting more garish and fugly and people are stupid enough to pay for it.
Other than some of the Epi leather offerings I have a tough time with LV – this is definitely one of the ‘tough’ ones! LOL! This is incredibly ugly and cheap-looking.
I’m not a huge LV fan in the first place, but their bags seems to get uglier and more overpriced each season.

Looks great on Gwen, but imo it’s definitely better in pics. IRL, the fabric reminds me of auto/plane upholstery in style but with a much finer weave and fiber. And the style doesn’t work well with the long shoulder strap, the way Rachel is wearing it.
The reason the speedys and other ones are much cheaper is that they are mass produced and you see them everywhere. These are special editions and not overflooding the market.
It’s just a little big.
I own this beautiful specimen and I absolutely adore it. It’s so perfect for casual outings in the city because it holds everything I need when I wander around and it still maintains a low maintenance slouchy shape on my arm or over my shoulder. I continuously receive compliments on it because it is so different and most louie lovers, let alone the rest of the handbag loving population, have never seen anything like it before, and well, that just makes me love it even more. This of course coming from the girl who refuses to buy the LV speedy that is knocked off more than the crap on canal street. Love it or hate it, I think this bag is fabulous.
