Jennifer Lopez in Loewe Amazona Bag

Gotta love that J. Lo! The diva from the Bronx is on top of her trends. While in Paris recently, Lopez was spotted on multiple days carrying Loewe’s new Amazona bag in black leather. As Bag Snobs know, Loewe, the Spanish luxury goods house owned by LVMH, is gearing for a U.S. comeback this fall. The bag is roomy and discreet, despite the Loewe logo branded on one side. Designer Stuart Vevers, who resurrected Mulberry during his tenure there, is betting big on Loewe succeeding in the U.S. It’s a great shape that translates well for work to weekend play. In the pictures of Lopez, it’s nice to see how professional it looks with a power outfit but also how bohemian it can look when worn with more relaxed garb (witness the Etro dress). The collapsible shape means it’ll mold to your body and to your levels of use–in other words, it’ll mold itself to its owner over time. Charming, isn’t it?

Man, all of this whining about logos today, Loewe now and Cartier earlier today. I detect some hypocrisy since this is coming from a guy who likes to buy bags with big *ss Y’s on them – perforated like Swiss Cheese no less!!!

A lovely bag, and the logo is quite discreet, isn’t it? I have seen much worse elsewhere.

I love Loewe and being from Europe it is easy to find. I am excited to hear they are preparing for a US comeback this fall – do you have any further info – from what I can tell they are only in San Fran airport and Hawaii right now? Thanks.
