LaLucca is an up-and-coming brand of affordable clutches designed by Laura Pimentel, a designer from the Dominican Republic (hence her clutches have been embraced by a number of Latin American stars including Thalia). Her latest collection, Art Bags, consists of one-of-a-kind handmade leather and canvas clutches ($350-$375), painted by international artist Aleksandar Kirilov. These are conversation pieces (I actually discovered this line because I spotted a woman carrying one of the clutches at the Bryant Park Hotel a few weeks ago and I stopped to ask her about it!). When you see them in person it’s immediately obvious that they were painted by hand. I don’t love the overly flowery ones, but there are some gorgeous abstract designs like this one and this one.
