I have been looking everywhere for the perfect summer messenger bag but keep returning to the Proenza Schouler PS1 messenger in white which tells me I need it. My biggest concern is my jeans bleeding blue on to a white messenger (my barenia and toile Hermes kelly turned blue last weekend and I’m devastated!) which is why I have not taken the plunge yet but I have heard there are ways to prevent that (washing your jeans with color catcher laundry sheets is a good one– many more here on our Facebook page from our readers). This bag is just the perfect casual chic combo with the brushed gold hardware, I want it want it want it! I read that Jack doesn’t want the world to like or “get” their bags, which is quite funny because the world loves their bags! What do you think? Should I have a Proenza summer? And any tips on preventing denim bleeding on to light colored bags? Share!

I just bought a yellow large PS1 last week and guess what… it now has a blue stain. Am sooooo upset!
PS1 is gorgeous. White leather does not look good as some of the other colors, like cognac or sea blue(my choice!)

I think that the only way to completely prevent stains from happening is not to wear white bags with dark denim. Best method for getting stains out of a white bag is to spray a cloth with some hairspray and then rub the stained part gently. I have not removed any denim stains with this method though, but it is worth a try!
I’m not so crazy about this bag maybe because it’s messenger style. The stain problem, I think most of us are fighting with it all the time. I try not to wear light color bags with blue or black jeans to prevent this problem. I would love to know a solution for this problem. If you have any tips please let me know.

I love this bag and I wish I have budget right now to have one, but not a white one. No, no, no, I´ll skip the PS1 in white!
I have this bag, the PS1 in black and love it. I love the look of the white and I, also, like it in natural. I had a Chanel white 2.55 reconditioned at Chanel, last year, because of color transfer from dark denim and it looks new, but they kept it about 6 weeks. At Chanel, they said it was a common problem. I have not had a problem with regular black pants. It just seems the denim is the worst. I have used a leather cleaner before for this problem, and it helps some, but will not totally take it out.I have a Balenciaga white bag that I cleaned myself and it looks better. Since it is a casual bag, etc, it just gives it character to not be perfect, I think. Tina, didn’t you mention something you can buy at the grocery to put in your laundry to help with this problem??
