Not Your Grandma’s Fanny Pack

My newest shopping partners-in-crime are also my favorite style bloggers, Judy (Atlantis Home) and Jane (Sea of Shoes) Aldrige. We often meet for lunch to discuss everything from boys, blogging and of course, shopping!  Last week the girls took me to Grange Hall (OMG, what a store, you will read more about them soon!) but the only bag that caught my eye was the fanny pack Jane had on from Le Grand Bleu (a boutique in Tokyo she is obsessed with). The military influenced design boasts a distressed leather belt and two separate packs trimmed in distressed leather.  You’d be surprised at how much one can stuff in there, as much as a large tote!  The canvas feels like it’s teflon coated, too– which will make it last through plenty of use.  As Jane told me, “I love it because it’s bad ass and practical!”.  We predicted the revival of the fanny pack months ago and judging from this LGB version, it’s never looked better. Jane’s bag is around $800USD. You’ll have to hop over to Tokyo to get your own.

Jane is one of the most photogenic girls I’ve ever known, she never takes a bad picture! Go browse through her blog, you will become mesmerized as we did when we discovered it last year. Judy took this photo of us but I wish she was in it as well since it was her birthday lunch! She’s become a very good friend in addition to being my stylist/vintage jewelry supplier. Her blog, Atlantis Home, is equally addictive– you will want every piece of jewelry she features.

Looks like the fanny packs that make up artists wear. On to the next…

I have a serious thing for serious fanny packs! One of my biggest regrets was not getting the Gucci fanny pack that later showed up on SATC.

Sonia — Yes! It does look like a makeup artist’s tool belt. This is probably one of the reasons I love it so much (I’m an artist myself).

Tina, the 3 of you look absolutely stunning! You look like Michelle Teoh, the Hong Kong actress in this particular shot. Gorgeous!

I actually like that fanny pack. It’s fun and edgy. I want one to wear to metal concerts and stuff.
