What Do You Carry to the Gym?
By Bag Snob Sharon on January 13, 2010 6:00 am Sharon Feiereisen

I don’t own any gym bags per se (a la adidas or Puma), but rather take the gym as an opportunity to wear all those bags I bought that I now feel guilty about (ie the ones I thought I needed to have, but rarely if ever actually wear). I have more Betsey Johnson, Gucci GG print, D&G, and Moschino bags than my heart can bear to count. I like them enough to not want to put them in my donate pile, but don’t like them enough to ever wear them out (or at least not often enough to justify how much I spent on them…does anyone else sometimes get anxiety/guilt-trips when they look at their closets!?). So really going to the gym is like two birds with one stone for me:-) What do you carry to the gym? Vote in the poll below! And for buying info on the “real” gym bags pictured above, jump!

What do you carry to the gym?(online surveys)

From left to right –

  • Anya Hindmarch Gym Kit canvas tote, $98
  • American Apparel Rigid Corduroy Diagonal Strap Gym, $39
  • LeSportsac Pop Shopper, $48
  • Tory Burch Sail Duffel Bag, $350

Sharon, I’m a personal trainer and group exercise instructor, so I need a great bag, to put my microphone and CDs next to my sweaty, used clothes. I have the Lululemon gym bag, and I love it. It’s got compartments for wet clothes, cell phone, water bottle etc. I love this company, and my only regret is that I didn’t buy the stock when they went public!

your notes are wrong on the “from left to right” because the second one from the left is definitely lesportac, not AA

You bring your designer bags to the gym with you because they’re considered “lesser” designer bags? Do you even realize how awful that sounds?

I hate Sports… Only once a week I go to my Yoga Class. I’m lucky to have the opportunity to get home quickly before and after the visit, so I can put my Yoga clothes on at home. I only take other shoes with me and these I throw in a small Longchamp Pliage!
