Marni Leather Shoulder Bag

We can't get enough of Marni's latest bag collection!  Kelly drooled over the bag above in suede but for me, the chocolate leather is most delicious.  It has the nonchalant ease Marni is known for with just a touch of charm from the hardware.  And see how the frame keeps the bag open when you need to dig around?  Stylish and convenient to use-- just the thing I am looking for to take to Milan.  I've had many friends who've had their bags ripped from their arms from kids on mopeds, which makes the body strap on this bag very functional for the streets of Italy plus what's more appropriate than toting a chic Marni bag while in Milan? Marni Leather Shoulder Bag here $1,220.

On another note, Marni's space age-y minimalist boutique just opened at City Center in Las Vegas.  I cruised the City Center almost daily during my week long vacation in Vegas and the place is unbelievable!  The new Marni boutique is a dream like space-- you must go check it out if you're in Vegas!

This new Marni boutique is encased by a minimalistic glass facade inviting an unobstructed view onto the 800 square foot selling floor and placing the Marni collection at center stage. The "lasso," inspiring the feature interior design element from which the ready-to-wear is seemingly suspended in midair, encircles the boutique, defining its perimeter and leading to a fibreglass shoe display.

Smooth, grey-painted curved walls have been given a randomly convex and concave "bubble" relief pattern; backlit, they create shadows and a playful graphic composition of textures while occasionally showcasing accessories. Additional fiberglass display boxes house more of the Marni accessories collection. Mannequins made of raw fibreglass in addition to those with a new, opalescent, purple lacquer finish are dressed in the Marni ready-to-wear suspended throughout the boutique's interior.

Freestanding elliptical display tables in opalescent purple are placed throughout on the clean background of a polished concrete floor. PVC stools offer comfortable seating clusters on soft, grey wool area rugs. Giant BarrisolĀ® discs echo the store's "bubble" motif while casting a soft diffused light from the ceiling.

Consuelo Castiglioni, working closely with the architecture firm Sybarite, has created a simple yet elegant setting with new, unexpected and captivating ways of presenting the Marni ready-to-wear and accessories collections.

  • I can't wait to see City Center, are all the other shops open? Marni is my favorite, glad it's back in the snobs' favor again.

  • This bag is so absolutely gorgeous and it does go with anything.

The best bag you've featured all week. I like looking at fun bags but when it comes to purchasing, this is the real deal. Reasonable price and beautiful design, definitely my next purchase. thanks!

  • Tina and Kelly, what do you think of the new Tod's Shade tote?? Was browsing through the new arrivals at Sak's last night, and I loved the shape of it (and the blue shade).

This Marni you featured is something for me to think about too (: TOO MANY CHOICES!!

Gorgeous bag! I can use it with so many outfits.

  • Awesome bag and I love Marni. Initially, I was put off by the prints. But my salesperson at Forty Five Ten, pushed me to try some pieces. I like those pieces very much.

The Marni stores and website are having a 50% off sale too so it's a great time to pickup pieces

  • so interesting! :)

    Tina and Kelly,

I just got an ugly harassing email from the same PR person that has always been mean when I did not feature her bags or did not write the reviews EXACTLY the way she wanted me to write her reviews. What should I do about this? Can you please do a special how to guide to deal with these awful pushy publicists of these companies that sell shoes, bags and clothes? They are mean and act like they are doing us a favor by allowing us to write about their clients. They should feel grateful that they get any press at all from us bloggers. I am just going to stop writing about this brand. No publicity means pretty soon they are off the radar. Do you think she is mean to everyone she deals with?

    • Hi there,
Sorry to hear that you are being harassed!
We have had a pretty horrendous run in with a pr person so we know how that feels! I would just not mention the brand at all. Sometimes they just want a mention, no matter how they get it!
      Good luck! xo Tina

  • Does the Marni Vegas boutique stock mens? South Coast used to but stopped a couple seasons back :(

  • I love this bag, it's a simple, classic design that will never go out of style because it's too trendy. If I'm lucky, they might have one when I hit the Marni outlet in Tuscany in April.

  • I'm not really feeling the bag (kinda odd little handle) but I think the store looks stunning.

  • wow this is really nice i love blackg
