Had Gabrielle Chanel (aka Coco) ran away with the circus instead of becoming a cabaret singer perhaps the Chanel classic flap bag would have resembled something like the Miu Miu Stage bags (Resort 2010) instead. Yes yes, a little embellishment never hurt anyone but very large, very cheap looking, and very ugly rhinestones are total eyesores and my heart actually aches for the brand. I don’t know what happened to Miu Miu bags, I used to covet its bag each season but overnight (specifically Spring 2008) the bags just went way south of hideous. Stores stopped carrying the line and it all but dropped off my radar until these showed up. Nothing wrong with paying homage to Chanel bags but let’s try not to insult them, either. Mostly slob with a touch of almost tolerability. The pastel ones are sorta girly-girl cute, but certainly not worth mentioning in the same sentence as Chanel. That horrific multi-color thing in the top row however is total SLOB!

I wouldn’t want to put these in the Chanel category, either, because that’s too degrading to all things sacred. But I don’t detest them. I agree with whomever said they would be ok if they’re in the cheaper range (they do look cheap), you know, like under the $300 mark. Anything over that price-point is expecting too much.
These look like purses for girls in their 20′s or grandmas. Think about it. If you saw an 80 YO wearing that multi-one in Miami or on a cruise, we’d all say “Great bag,” but we wouldn’t go get one ourselves.

Definitely Snob! Saw this in Bergdorf last year, and couldn’t take my hands off of it…the feeling of the leather is phenomenal and the jewels definitely don’t look cheap. chain is detachable and the back can be used as a clutch….Anyhow I am in my mid 20′s so it’s totally workable for a few more years!!!
