Build Your Bag Wardrobe

Here is the 2nd segment on NBC's LX TV New York.  I featured 12 different bag styles on this segment but you know television, they slice and dice so only a few made the cut!

Years ago I developed a system of organizing my bags so that I wouldn't squander money away on every bag that passed my way.  I took stock of my bag collection and came up with 5 different bag types that I felt I needed for a complete bag wardrobe.  Each season, I look at my bags and see which category is feeling sparse-- (this season I'm doing a lot of clutches as I have so many events to attend!)  I'll be posting an entry next week with suggestions in each category for all budgets.

The Tote: This is a no brainer, everyone should have a nice selection of totes to choose from for work and for play.

The Travel: A functional bag to travel with is essential when you have kids. Staying organized is key!

The Treasure: This is the special bag that you pull out when you want to feel glamorous, it can be a $20 seashell bag with sentimental value or a 5 figure croc birkin.

The Trend: All women, no matter how classic, want to be stylish. This is the bag you can have fun with each year or each season, depending on your budget and how often you buy bags!

The Clutch: Clutches are no longer for evenings, I love an oversized clutch for day!

Wow, this bag is awesome, I'd feel like a runway model carrying this on my arm!! Quality & style, who wouldn't love to own this!

  • Good job, Tina. I'm not feeling the Michael Kors bag at all. I do have too many black bags! I am considering one of the Adriana Castro bags. I just discovered her thanks to you.

  • Tina, I am that girl with a stack of black bags. Thanks for the tips I will now use your system to buy bags. Next up for me is a clutch!! Love your site by the way *_*

  • Tina, great video. What's the green clutch you showed with travel docs? Is it Smythson?

      Hi Alund
It's by Smythson of Bond Street. I said so in the segment but it got sliced out :(

  • Great idea abt the bag wardrobe and nice job girls!

  • I love the clutch. The whole outfit is great on Eva. Though I would not likely buy anything like that for myself.

I have always loved clutch bags for evening. I'm a bag slob by the way; I usually carry large bags when I'm doing lots of walking so I can put my heels in and take out the comfy shoes.
