Wow, Gerard Darel bags are still difficult to find stateside but apparently Hollywood stars don’t have any problems locating them. Halle carried her soft leather satchel (Besace Pom, $529 at select Bloomingdales) both Thursday and Friday, while Jessica sported the same Gerard Darel bag in dark grey suede on Monday night. Spotted boarding a yacht in Australia yesterday, Kristen accessorized with a black fringe messenger bag. For me, the Besace Pom wins as Gerard Darel’s best of the season. What about you?
We’re off to Paris tomorrow, will definitely stop at Printemps to check out the GD! (They often have a better selection than the boutiques, and the Printemps GD sales associate is a sweetheart.)
Do you know that in France, Gerard Darel has a very mediocre reputation ? No luxury bags or cloths, very low key, it is what French call “sentier” which is sinonymous of bad quality. It is very strange to notice that in the US you consider GD bags at the same level of Balenciaga luxury bags !!
It is untrue , Le sentier is area in Paris where Gerard Darel open his first store in fact this brand has a good evolution because it comes from an unknow place (le sentier is not avenue Montaigne)and becomes what it is today of course it is not a brand as know as YSL… In France Gerard Darel has a good reputation i know that because i live in France.
I am sorry to contradict you, hr, but I know GD from the inside because i have worked for this brand. Le Sentier is a parisian quarter where all the “textile” and mediocre fashion works and they very often use non declared workers ; GD has still their office there and produce in various country as Morocco, Tunisia, Bulgaria, ecc.. Mrs darel is a fantastic bisness woman.
thanks for tell us that,i always want to know the inside . I have an article which tell that GD bags are made in Italy is it true? Because now i begin to ask me some questions about GD . I really don’t like buying bags that i don’t know where they come from where they are made .
