Alexa Chung in Tan Mulberry Alexa Bag

alexa mulberry.jpgalexachung mulberry.jpg

Given that it was named after her, it’s little surprise that Alexa Chung has been spotted all around wearing the Alexa Mulberry bag in tan. It’s part of the brand’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection and I for one can’t wait for this bag to hit! I love how worn-in and slouchy it looks, though I have to say it does remind me quite a bit of Proenza Schouler’s Fall/Winter 2009 bags (which had a similar briefcase-like inspiration, though the PS bags were more structured). If you’re going to take inspiration from someone though, the Proenza Schouler boys aren’t a bad choice:)

What do you think about the Alexa bag?

Doesn´t this look much like the Bayswater? I have my doubts about Mulberry. I don´t like them in real life. The stitching is bad and the leather rough.

  2. From the looks of it I think I’d like it. I’d use to lug all my junk for work but I think the above poster is right, I’d need to check it out in person in order to really tell on stitching and feel.

Always been attracted to the aged look bag, like it has been a treasure for a while.

This one does look too much like a briefcase….maybe okay for jeans, but with the

    dresses, just looks sloppy, unfortunately.

I’ve never understood the appeal of Mulberry – is it even worthy of the label “luxury brand”? I follow a few Filipino blogs and they always cover Mulberry in a HUGE way – is the brand HUGEly popular in the Far East?

I think that its a great every-dayer… and its fab that Alexa has endorssed it. Mulberry are not pretentious and dont claim to be anything other than what they are; A luxury British brand with a high fashion edge!! Bring on SS10 collection I say to all you haters! :-)

Well, i for one will be getting one!!

  7. mine’s ordered !!

  8. This is the first Mulberry bag that I find remotely attractive…but I’d still rather have the Chloe Paraty!

  9. I’ve always wanted a bag that looks just like this. Like for the last 15 years. Wow.

  10. The leather appeals to me. I like the Schouler bags better.

  11. I hail from Asia & I don’t think Mulberry is really that popular in Asia. Some bloggers are being invited to their events & that is why you tend to see some bloggers covering Burberry or Mulberry quite often.

I don’t know any Filipino blogs mentioning Mulberry in a huge way. Maybe a Singaporean blog. But we don’t even have Mulberry in the Philippines and very few know it.

I do like this bag and I am a fan of the Mulberry brand. It’s a pity they do not have a bigger presence in Asia.

why is this girl relevant…cant see it??

  17. You’re right, this bag also reminds me of the Proenza Schouler bag – in a bad way :-(

  18. Is she carrying the oversize Alexa or the regular one? I want to order it and I like the size of the one in this post’s pictures.

  19. This bag reminds me of the Mulberry Bayswater and the Roxanne. I love the dark leather of the one in the photo. Do they sell it in that color or is it dark brown because its so worn?

You can get almost the exact copy at http://www.shoedevil.co.uk for around £200.

They only have tan but the quality is as good as the Mulberry original if not better!

If it isn’t on there yet just email them and they will give you all the details!. x

Mulberry uses the best Leather sourced from scotland to make their timeless bags, their leather is very tough and rough and Mulberry said their bags will last over 25 years and it ages beautiful, their stitching is hand done rather than most designer such as Louis Vuitton and Gucci are done by machines and use false advetisement aswell.

Mulberry leather looks better after uses, getting battered and getting use in rain ETC just adds a more authentic look and character to the bag !!!!

SEE IN THIS PICTURE HOW LOVELY DOES THIS MULBERRY BAYSWATER LOOKS AFTER 6 YEARS OF USE (IT LOOKS SO CLASSIC !!!)

There is mulberry in the Philippines. Rustans carry mulberry. I personally like mulberry because one, you don’t see fake ones being made unlike lv, gucci, chanel and Hermes. It’s not a brand that’s popular to the masses. If you know mulberry (and own one) you’re definitely NOT middle class.

  25. I love Mulberry too. I got my first bag this year in Swinegate. The leather is just rustic and is simply lovely. Yes it is not that popular here, but it is big in Europe. And yes it is high end, Kate Moss totes around a 7000 pound crocodile bayswater. I both love LV and Mulberry.
