Lanvin Quilted Leather Bag

Is it me or is Lanvin losing its edge?  I just can't seem to get excited about the bags anymore.  I love Alber Elbaz and the ready to wear is still to die but the bags... not feeling it.  I mean there is nothing really wrong with this quilted bag but there is nothing great about it either.  I long for the days of whimsy from Elbaz, not days of safe marketing for consumption.  What about you?  Lanvin Quilted Leather bag for $2033.

  • Tina:

I have a question for you about another bag. What do you think about the Tods G-Bag?? They just came out with it in embossed alligator leather and it looks beautiful, but I would like your opinion. Would you buy a canvas or leather g-bag??

    Thanks.

  • maybe you're just getting sick of bags, in general.

    kidding.

i kind of liked this bag. after a quick glance, the frame of the bag reminded me of a proenza schouler satchel, but a looser, casual version. it's not bad.

  • You are right Tina, nothing wrong with this Lanvin bag. I think that it is this weeks best. Btw, where are all the gorgeous bags I have seen in Vogue and Elle, etc.magazines ?

  • I actually really like this bag. It's simple and elegant without being boring. Have you seen it in person? It makes a differance!

  • Thanks for catching the typo. I wrote this entry on the plane yesterday (it had internet onflight!) and was a bit exhausted after the long week. But yes, nothing really wrong with the bag except it's not what I've come to expect from Lanvin... it's a bit too Dior Granville for me and the single handle is awkward...

  • This bag is beautiful in grey without the quiliting and can be seen at mytheresa.com. Lovely bag. I want it but at the moment can't justify the purchase.

  • The bag is actually nice in real life. It is safe, but it is light and I found the single handle comfortable over the shoulder. The clasp is kind of fun. There are not loads of amazing black bags this season.

  • I like this bag a lot. It has a clean, straight forward look, with strong hardware and a little nod to Chanel. Within their collection Lanvin offers many great fashion options, but this style addresses the need for something cleaner and more traditional...thankfully, not every look is for everyone, but this one says professional while still contemporary.

  • I don't mind it but it's not anything I'd go out and buy full price.

  • The bag is really awkward!Everything about it!And another weird thing is how are people supposed to wear beautiful Lanvin clothes with this bag.

  • I like this bag as well as the non-quilted version in bluish-gray. Both are beautiful in person.

  • i like this bag very much,
