The safest bag in the tents this week is Chanel. Followed very closely by Hermes which Rachel Zoe opted for at every show (black 35 Birkin). Nobody can be offended and it is beyond politics when you have on a true classic. Or you just avoid the whole thing by leaving your bag in the car like Anna Wintour and Nina Garcia (although she told me she has a Nancy Gonzalez "of course!!"). Well, I wish I could have gotten my hands on this high marks and no risk Chanel pleated flap for this week. It is sold out in LA, NY and everywhere else I called. This is the classic flap in calfskin for the Fall/Winter Twisted Theme, which is the heavy trend in ready-to-wear. Loose pleated skirts and dresses galore this season and continuing in a major way for Spring 2010. But with a Chanel flap, it'll be "vintage" and never out of style. Take a look at the Chanel site but you better call 800-550-0005 to have them track it down for you if you are really serious about having it. It is $2625.
Yeah, one can´t go wrong when choosing the right Chanel bag ! Even I own one. This one, however, is not my favorites of this years f/w collection.

I have a question for you about another bag. What do you think about the Tods G-Bag?? They just came out with it in embossed alligator leather and it looks beautiful, but I would like your opinion. Canvas or leather??

I was able to get one from Chanel @ Hirschleifer's in Manhasset, NY. Call Stacy @ 516-627-3566. She has one left.
They have them in Bergdorf's in Black, Brown and Grey. You can ask for Joseph he is very helpful. The bag is really big though. The bag is great, I wish they would make it a little smaller. Its even bigger then the maxi.

Just saw this bag at the 59th St. flagship Bloomies today. A lot more wrinkly in person, really not digging it. I also saw this HUGE (I mean, HUGE) 2.55 the size of a box for knee-high boots. Patented vinyl priced at $2795, I wonder what you snobs think about it?

I saw the huge 2.55 bag too. It looks like a toy. I'm 5'3" (on a good day) this would never work for me!
I can't wear the Chanel jumbo, either. I'm 5'1" and it overwhelms me. But I have a nice collection of the medium size flap, which is just right for me. And I do like the look of this new one, although I haven't seen it in person yet.
