Helen Mirren was photographed in this Lana Marks Concord Clutch in red alligator. I first took notice of Lana Marks bags a few years back when a few actresses (Kate Winslet, Julie Christie) were photographed wearing 40-carat diamond-and-alligator Lana Marks clutches valued at $100,000. Mostly I took notice because I thought that the diamonds were completely lost on the clutches. I also think alligator and diamonds make for a pretty cringe-worthy combo. Done simply in alligator however, the clutch is perfectly chic and fitting for someone like Helen Mirren. There’s nothing hip or young about it and I can’t imagine anyone fashion forward toting it around, but for those who value understated simplicity I think it’s fab.

The one pictured above/Mirren is wearing is NOT $100K…but some actresses have worn a version of this covered in diamonds which was…and agreed insane and not chic!
I’m sure the Derek Lam boutique would know…212 966 1616 …Barney’s in Dallas already had the clutch in some colours…I saw them there yesterday…
