These canvas tote bags have printed pictures of the Hermes Kelly and the Chanel classic flap. OMG, can we all say, BLASPHEMY!??!! Is this even legal? I'm sure lawyers will be making some phone calls very soon. Remember those jelly birkins? Those got taken down in a hurry (but not before my sister bought one, at least those were kitschy and humorous). These however are just hideous and ridiculous. The only good use I can see for these are to store your actual Hermes and Chanel in so you can identify them in your closet. No self respecting lover of fashion should be caught dead anywhere near these. Oh, there is another one, so revolting I couldn't put up, it is an LV with the multi-color Murakami design. Ugghhh. I can believe Browns Fashion even has these. Hermes Kelly print and Chanel print for $65.

This reminds me of these bags I saw at a boutique near my apt...they're these cheap, simple canvas grogercy shopping bags and on them they say "my other bag is chanel" or "my other bag is louis vuitton" ..would never pay nearly $50 for something like that but love the idea!
I saw these too, and am like ?. What´s going on?
i think they're witty and cute
TACKY!
Love Kelly's idea for the only pratical use for these bags.
I think you need more of a sense of humour for them. They're sharp and different, young and fresh. It's an ironic idea for those either over Hermes or who cant afford it!
I agree with Becca, we all accept that Hermes & Chanel represent the holy grail (to many) of handbags. But why are we sooooooo uptight?
Cute & fun + free promotion for Hermes & Chanel...specifically what is the harm here? Are we really taking away business from Hermes/Chanel?
Finally, didn't Chanel also do a similar tacky shopping bag re-incarnation recently with a starting price of $1600.
[ba-humbug]
I agree with Fashionaire.
It was bound to happen. In the middle of a big recession, we need all the laughs we can get.
At least it didn't cost $1600+.
You have just completely embodied your name, bagsnob. LOL!!!! Relax, you take yourself much too seriously. If you need a cute shopping bag for the grocery store, this is perfect. No one is trying to pass it for a darn Chanel or Hermes bag. For goodness sake. Are you serious? SMH.
I think these are heaps less tacky than the jelly Birkins. I was pretty young when they came out and I had friends who seriously bought and liked them! Ugh!
I didn't like the jelly Birkins but I like these. They're not trying to copy Hermes/Chanel, and I think the totes are more of a fun send-up. I would get the Chanel one, but the $65 tag doesn't seem justified.
I would wait for the designer bag "gods" to weigh in on this one before I'd get one. It's nice to use as dustbags alright, but I wouldn't want to be buying them knowing I'm contributing to a company that is "illegally" piggybacking on the success of these bags and the brands.
I was once poo-poo'd after pointing out that Hermes had "borrowed" indigenous Bangladeshi nakshi kantha designs for one of their scarves. The argument was that this "inspiration" is normal and natural in the fashion world.
So if Hermes can steal - excuse me, borrow - from poor Bangladeshi women and make a tidy profit, I can't see how this cute and whimsical send up is harming the brand - or the souls of law-abiding fashionistas.
this is truly offensive
honestly anyone who would pay $65 for this need to go see a fashion therapist asap.
i get that u thnk its "cute" or "funny" or "o this would be cute to run my errands in", but if you feel justified in paying $65 it, then you clearly need a better place to spend ur money.
i like to chanel one.. honestly, $65 is really expensive.. i beleive that i will find a way to get 1 if it is cost at $45 .. BTW, i think the bag looks too narrow ...
I'm sorry but I think you are getting your knickers in a tight knot for nothing. I think it's rather "out of the box" and something different. Those big companies already earn waaaay to much and it's free publicity for them!!
Only a true snob could pooh-pooh something like this and well, I suppose you are one! Congratulations!
