Derek Lam Resort 2010
By Bag Snob Kelly

I got a sneak peek at Derek Lam‘s resort collection yesterday and am obsessing, majorly.  My two favorite bags of the season from Derek are the white Penelope Bauletto tote ($1,495) with tassle detail and front flap pocket and the Elsa cluch ($790) in bubblegum.  I can not tell you how much I love my Elsa clutch in grey python; not only is it chic– it fits both my kelly long wallet and my very full make up bag plus all the other junk I like to carry around (like my mini hand powered flashlight, very handy as it does not require batteries. Just the squeeze of your grip!). I’m really excited Derek is continuing the Elsa clutch for Resort ’10, in pink no less!!! It’s like he made it just for me :) Actually, the entire collection is so me I think I want everything!  Check out the collection at Couture Snob.  For details and delivery dates, call 212-966-1616 or email Wayne (my lovely SA) at the Derek Lam Boutique at 10-12 Crosby St at Howard.

Sorry, but I just don´t get the grip of any of these Lam bags. The white is too white + puffy and the pink one does indeed have the color of bubblegum. Both lack elegance.

    Mette- is that you? hehe

It’s definitely not meant to be elegant but rather edgy, cheeky and fun. I love the grey python, too!

OH, dear. Such gorgeous bags, but the clasp on the white one looks … circumsized?

After mulling it over since yesterday, I’ve decided I MUST have the Elsa in bubblegum. Too cute!

Love them, especially the Elsa clutch. I’m always afraid that hot pink accessories will make me look like either Barbie or Elle Woods from Legally Blonde. However, the tassel and asymetrical flap give it just enough edginess. It’s perfect!

I have to say it, the Elsa is THE clutch for the fun and young (and even if you’re not young i’m sure you will definitely feel it when you’re toting this baby around). Love, love it! I’ve advised all my girlie friends to snatch one up, Derek Lam is certainly on the way up. Cant wait to see what he’ll come up with next!

These are absolutely fabulous! I love this collection, and all these bags are perfect for the summer months because they are big enough to hold essentials (keys, credit card), but not too big where they are a hassle to tote around! The colors are also amazing.

These bags are perfect for summer. I love the colors; and they are not too big and not too small either.
