YSL Cruise 2010

I am a bit in shock that the year 2010 is around the corner. Where has this decade gone? It's been the most amazing decade of my life, which is why I don't want it to end! And by the looks of Cruise 2010, I will be missing 2003. The most disappointing accessories collection thus far is YSL. Yes I know that Cruise is not a big season but why do a half ass job if you're going to show at all? Oscar de la Renta and Chanel take just as much care with Cruise bags as they do for Fall. Well, maybe not as much but it's damn close. I really loved the RTW from YSL but the bags are dismal at best. How original is an envelope clutch? I love the look from many other designers that I don't have high expectations of but from YSL??? An envelope clutch and a canvas bag with a giant Y on it? Blech. Thanks but I'll wait for Spring 2010. What say you my snobs?

  • I say the giant statement necklace is of the moment and NO to bags with a big Y. We need innovative design and perfect skins for our bags not overly done logos. I really want hats to come back as the most important accessory in a woman's wardrobe and help save us all from skin cancer and premature aging.

  • I agree the clutch and all those accessories are pretty lame. The bag is pretty nice though...

  • Don't know bout you, but I actually do like the envelope clutch, no matter how unoriginal it may seem...

  • the envelope clutch looks just like the ones Oscar de la Renta did a few seasons ago. I expected more from YSL too.

  • I agree, YSL bags have been really awful. I'm still using my muse and downtown tote and have not purchased any new YSL bags in a long time!

  • ysl has always been un-orginal.

    the original appropriator? ha.

  • I love YSL but not the bag above. What is that? Camping gear?

  • The colours are very disappointing
and the textures and the design oh well I love YSL bags but I ll pass on those
BTW does anyone got an idea on the actual fall colous for bags and accessories?
I checked vogue collections and if it's only what i saw then it is equally disappointing to cruise

  • @cat , I think that sums up YSL in general the past year, disappointing. I think it's going to be an era of indie young designers like Alexander Wang. When is the coco duffel going to be available?

  • I agree with Lara, it is going to an era of indie designers. Hopefully they have good backers lol... The envelope is cool but it is definitely exactly like Oscar's which is also a copy of Hermes'...good point Jackie. One new brand who does a great envelope is Hunting Season. got two at Barneys, one in lizard and one in python... although expensive definitely worth it haven't taken it off for drinks and night out...Also got the Alexander Wang zipper bag....YSL needs Tom Ford back! Where is the originality of the Mombasa??????

  • Agreed. The "Easy" bag was especially lame.
