SNOB EXCLUSIVE: Diane von Furstenberg Fall 2009 Hayworth Bag

user-pic
dvfhayworthtote.jpg We attended dinner at the DVF studio over Fashion Week in NYC (the Diva herself sat with us for over an hour, mainly because we were seated with her sister-in-law and family but we'd like to think it's cuz she loves Bag Snob *_* jump for video of the dinner) and got an exclusive peek at the Fall 2009 bags.  I was told DVF hired the bag designers behind Marni bags to revamp her accessories line and I am beside myself with excitement!  I've been holding back for 3 months and finally given the go ahead to post the photos of the to die for bag collection. You ready?   First up is the "Hayworth" python tote with gun metal studs worthy of a Rock Goddess. Do I even need to tell you why you have to order this bag?  Anyone with eyes and any sense can see this is going to be the MUST HAVE bag from DVF for Fall '09. I saw it in gold, pewter and black and have to say black is my favorite. A timeless yet edgy rocker chic style in the most luxurious python skin, it just screams Pat Benatar and everything cool about rock and roll!  The studs are also very subtle so it doesn't look trendy, notice it along the inside of the handles-- I almost passed out with excitement when they showed it to me.  The size is just at 14"/33cm wide in a classic style.  And the price, you are going to die when you find out how much it is, $1,950- for a large PYTHON tote!

I must have this bag and will not rest until it's MINE!  I've harassed everyone at DVF for months now and will continue until the Hayworth is dangling from my arm!

Email Laura Cook at DVF boutique in NYC (python prohibited in California!) and get on the wait list, like- pronto!  Make sure you tell her Bag Snob sent you!  Or call 646.486.4800. Meanwhile, keep an eye on the DVF online boutique here.

I carry my Flip camera everywhere now and have captured priceless moments like this! We were at dinner at the DVF studio and Diane came and sat with us (we were seated with her sister-in-law whom she is very close to). She pulled out her fan and told me someone made it for her after the runway show. She used it all night and camped it up for us on camera. When I told her she must use it daily she said "But I will be like Karl Lagerfeld!" She has a wicked sense of humor and it's always awe inspiring to be in her presence. Whenever she sees us she says, "The Bag Snob girls!" and kisses us. We are not worthy!

Freaking A, it's such a simple bag but not boring in the least bit. Wow, DVF bags have never interested me before! Thanks snobs!

  • I soooooooo want this bag. When i win the lottery it shall be mine!

  • I must be the only one not liking this bag.. I like the python and the price is really reasonable, but the handles are popping out in an unpleasant way and then there is just too much of everything. The poor python is forced into an unnatural shape.
